Proton Pass should have nothing to do with other VPN service. It came out of beta in the end of summer and was available as a $1 for life promo for some unsubbed proton users.
It’s a password manager and an added feature of email alias hide-me offering.
If you sub to proton unlimited, you can get their entire suite of apps, including vpn and pass.
Otherwise, you’re looking at their free vpn option or decent black Friday promo pricing on their VPN plus plans.

Wait. The 3 VPNs blocked TiviMate and/or the iptv service? I have Xfinitity and don’t have problems.

Tx @mthr1 you’re correct I have Proton Unlimited and connect to “Plus” servers. I got it crossed up with Pass. Tx for the clarification.

I’ve had Tivimate for 5 yrs, Surfshark for 2, Nord for 3 before that, and about 20-30 different IPTV services over the last 7 years. Assuming download speeds are decent - anything over 40 mbps for live tv and videos, I’ve found that it’s the quality of the IPTV service that determines how often buffering occurs. During this time, I’ve used Mecool and Beelink android tv boxes and numerous Firesticks. Regular buffering (not the occasional buffering that almost everyone encounters) was always related to mediocre IPTV services.

You stated that your router is far from your living room tv, to get a wired connection, I posted you would need power line adapters but as you are using firestick, the adapter in the living room should also have a wifi node.
Other option Mesh wifi - most older devices have a better wifi port and wired limited by 100Mb connection port ( Formuler Z8 has 1Gb wifi / 100Mb wired)

Original post was about WIFI issue.
Agree with you, not many look into SurfShark settings - as troy’s video on the subject was deemed " YouTube Removes Surfshark Video - Harmful & Dangerous"

SS is the best IMHO as they hold no data on you. Others hold data for a week, month or more which should be obvious why you don’t want this to happen with a VPN. Thanks to Troy for keeping us updated on all the changes happening!

Keep in mind most of the newer android boxes don’t totally shutdown. I believe they are in “sleep” mode and are still using bandwidth

Allen 51 you said that well, agree completely. I use mecool and beelink, when service is bad lots of buffering , when a good provider there is very little.
I have both Tivimate and Surfshark as well….and for the most part I’m buffering free….it’s the quality of the streaming service the less expensive the least stable and for about $100 per yr you can get GREAT stable connections even with download speeds of 50. I know this because I also have severally services including YoutubTV Which never buffers with the same speed for IPTV where there is buffering…but hardly zero buffering with the $100 IPTV service. Also I have had an on going conversation with Surfshark to correct the reduction I get on my download speed while using their VPN. My speed drops from 300 to 50 or 70 and they have tried to help me correct this with different configurations of the DNS etc….I’m really not happy with their VPN as it relates to download speed challenges and it doesn’t matter whether I on my IOS or Android Onn or Firestick….and I know it’s not Tivimate…
Earlier in the week I couldn’t get a connection using the VPN on a server which I use all the time and had to switch to another location and the IPTV was buffering on several IPTV services but not on YouTubeTV….my conclusion was it was more of a VPN problem then anything else and as of today 3 days later everything is in working order EXCEPT the diminished VPN speed when connected……life goes on….
