How’s the remote? I know you were impressed with the Bluetooth. Can you use Button Mapper to change buttons? Or can you disable the buttons on the bottom in the settings?

@JPM69 haven’t really had time to explore all the features? but not having to point it at the box is a good thing…lol
plus it paired w my other boxes no prob…it’s worth it just for the bluetooth remote

It’s your basic Android remote. I never mess with programming buttons or a Universal remote or any of that stuff. I probably should but I never understand how to do that. LOL I’ve got like 6 different remotes and the TV remote. I just change the source and grab the remote for the box I want to use

Yeah i get it. Ive only done with my Nvidia because of that Netflix button and the lack of a mute button. Was well worth it.

It looks just like the Onn remote in the pic.

I get it, this is for one TV

@PapaS did you make that? You could
Probably sell that on Amazon and make a killing. I’d buy one for sure

@PapaS is one step ahead of you…

I used button mapper to disable the Netflix button. Pressing both volume buttons simultaneously mutes the sound.

Hey @raven41951 the Shield Pro has easy configuration for various needs using the settings button. You can choose 3 options, quick single click, dbl click or long press. I set it for dbl click to mute/unmute. Way easier than using two hands going the volume up/down route imho.

Thanks Miki. I am aware of those options and I actually tried one but it didn’t really work for me so now I just lower the volume (it’s easier for me). I disabled the Netflix button because I don’t use Netflix and I kept hitting it accidentally. As a matter of fact I prefer the Alexa remote as it has all the buttons I need. Either way its nbd.

If you ever need help with the Shield Pro settings please don’t hesitate to ask. There are a number of us who have them and have dug deep into the setup to do things like closing background apps without the need for an extra app to do it as well as clearing cache data with 5 easy clicks. The config options are enormous. Sorry a tad off topic.

After further testing I have some not so good things to report that I have discovered with this Box.

First, I installed Analiti to do a speed test. On all my other boxes with no VPN I get a consistent 370-380 Mbps down. Several tests on this box and I never got higher than 60 Mbps.

Secondly, I am not able to watch anything in 4K on KODI. No matter what 4K source I choose even the smallest file, it looks like it’s going to play, then sometimes I get buffering then kicked out of KODI to device home screen (I never get buffering on any of my other boxes) sometimes the screen turns black and kicks me out of KODI back to the home screen of the box. I tried several HDMI Output configurations (Auto, several of the 4K options, with HDR, SDR, and auto)

@Comtech are you able to play 4K sources on this Box? If so what do you have chosen under HDMI output? And do you have HDR, SDR, or Auto checked? Thanks

EDIT: - Disconnected the TX-10 Pro, hooked the regular ONN 4K back up getting 380 Mbps down and flawless 4K streams. @JPM69 and others waiting for your box hoping I just got a dud and you don’t have the same issues but this box is going into the ole File Cabinet!

Well looks like this is a hard NO for me. Out $11 I can live with that

Thanks for the heads up.

I’ll test it out after it gets ashore. Lol

I have a 1080 tv that i still use so hopefully those streams arent affected.

And i dont use the pvr/live tv in Kodi because it messes with my movies/shows. So this might work as a Kodi tv only option.

We will see. Worst case, its a back up to a back up i guess.

Im gonna be using mine for offline playback of video files no greater than 1080p, hopefully it can deal with that.

I got 2 so if there is a problem then I’m only out $23. I thought since they were so cheap it would be fun to play with
