100% I have never cleared cache on any of my devices. No issues whatsoever

Hi! It’s me again. I cleared all cache, data and forced stopped on the Amazon apps on my firestick 4k max 2nd generation before I started to watch the firestick today. I checked my internal storage, it was 500 mb. I checked it later in the day, it was down to 400mb. I didnt add any apps or anything. I went back to watching tv on Tivimate. I later got the critically low storage window. It wouldn’t let me check my storage. All I could do I
was manage my apps. It would go to my program then back to critically low storage window. This is what I don’t understand, why is the storage depleting by 100’s of mbs when I’ve done nothing to lower it by that much???
I have a firestick 4x max 1st generation that’s not doing this. With all the 5 firesticks I’ve owned I’ve never had one delete the storage like the max 2nd generation that has more storage than any of the others.
I’ve used the 2nd generation for about a year, then all this started to happen. I’m at my wits end. This is I think the 4th time this has happened. My problem is I can’t afford to buy something different right now.
Does anyone know what the warranty is on the 4k max 2nd generation?
End of rant & asking for some new help.

It seems at this point, it may be necessary to post a photo of you Application screen and of your ā€œmanage your appsā€ screen. This would be to see what is gobbling up of your space.

As far as the warranty you may have to contact Amazon customer service.

Why not get a powered hub or an OTG cable and a 64 GB memory stick. Problem solved, unless you have malware of course.

Miki I use my otg cable for external so I can record on Tivimate.

Please go back to my post from 5 days ago. In that post there is a list of my installed apps.
The funny thing about this, is my max 1st generation has the same apps installed and it isnt low on storage. The 1st generation has 5.0 gb of storage to use. The 2nd generation has 12.86gb to use and yet it is out if storage even after uninstalling the 3 apps they ask to have uninstalled. To me that is very odd.
I’m sorry I keep ranting but this seems odd that I’m the only one having this problem.
Please let me know if that list helped. If not I’ll try to get a picture but it’s not letting me do anything. I couldn’t even get to the home page.
Thanks.

Miki, I have Virus Total on the firestick. Does that take care of maware? If it doesn’t what app do I need to help with malware. Thanks.

Sorry, unfortunately just seeing a list, that you posted, really doesn’t help. Since I don’t currently have a Firestick, I’m not certain what Amazon has force loaded and what you have added. If you’ve added all of the stuff that is on that list then that is just way too much for your Stick.

At this point I would suggest that you factory reset the stick, then add what you want, i.e.VPN, Analiti, the VPN dot and you said that you use TiViMate, on the Stick until you start getting to Low Storage error. Also note that you should be loading almost everything over to your USB drive other than your VPN.

Otherwise maybe somebody else might be able to step in and give you a hand.

@Lsredbird47 …i’m sure the others here will correct me if i’m wrong–of course a very good possibility–but i think Virus Total is JUST a scanner, not an actual anti-virus program…
this is copied from the googly store….ā€œPlease note that virustotal for Android does not provide real-time protection and, so, is no substitute for any antivirus product, just a second opinion regarding your apps.ā€

Yes for scanning and I use it for checking APK’s.
I have never use any antivirus software on any of my Android boxes and never had any issues tbh.
I rarely use a vpn either but that is not antivirus software either.

Here is a link to one screensho I took o the 31st if March after this happened for the 2nd or 3rd time. I’m losing track. Please let me know it you can open it or not.
The firestick is out of storage. The remote is working for it at the moment. It won’t go to settings, if it does it pops back to a partial home screen. I really don’t want to do another factory reset because all that does it puts a babd aid on it gor a short time and it starts all over. This us getting very frustrating.

Thank you for loading the photos. How much data is on your ā€œExternal Memoryā€?

Do you open each one and ā€œForce Stopā€ on the ones that you aren’t using? Then clearing Data, the clear Cache?

It’s very obvious that you have far too much on ā€œInternal Memoryā€. So, as mentioned before, you’ve really ought to move all the stuff that can be moved to your external drive. The only thing that you would really need to keep in ā€œInternal Memoryā€ is the VPN. And of course you won’t be able to move the stuff that the Stick came with from Amazon. You also may be able to dump some of the stuff that Amazon provides.

My usb drive is used for recording from Tivimate. I can’t use it for memory and recording.

Yes, I do clear cache, data and force stop everyday.

Here is a link to an article on moving stuff to your external drive.
