As the article above eludes to…This was googles chance to take the lead from the nvidea shield and they failed in that. So far imho no box can match the well dated shield. Hopefully someone will come along and acomplish that but with a serious box, no lipstick needed.

I have no problem running 4K on my 2019 Shield Pro and in fact the upscaling is awesome. The Shield Pro blows the Onn Pro away in it’s diversity of options alone. I tried an Onn for 2 weeks then gave it away. The Shield maybe a dinosaur but it’s the T-Rex of Streaming. To each their own.

Am trying to find a used SHIELD PRO for $100. The average used cost is $150. That really good for ten years old technology (when it was developed). People still love them forever.

I will see if I can find any. I have the 2019 Pro so I’ll focus on that.
Wow. After a brief search on the obvious sites like kijiiji and eBay ppl want more for a used 2019 Pro than you can pay for a new one. That’s just insane.

I know Troy didn’t give this streamer high marks, but that was mostly because of the $99 price tag. For anyone wanting to try it, looks like Walmart has it on sale for $79 now.

Hi,

Many thanks for all the support you provided.

Regarding the older NVIDIA Shield…IMHO, it’s time for you to move on to something more modern. Get yourself a Buzz TV or a Formuler. Yeah, it cost a few bucks, but you will have great performance for years to come. More memory, faster processor, less lagging and freezing, more capabilities and more enjoyment! The old NS served me well for years, now it’s a paperweight.
Just sayin’…

The latest Buzz and Formuler devices don’t support DV and worth mentioning if it’s a requirement for the user.

Definitely worth pointing that out thats the only reason I went for the Google Streamer 4K over the formuler z11 pro max.
