I think you hit the nail right on the head. Not everyone is the same and patience goes a long way. Also, reading, and comprehension is difficult for some people.
Letās face it, in this era of fast speeds and fast processes, we sometimes want everything to work immediately, and thatās usually not the case, that also involves patience on our part. In the ācomputerā world, āsh**t does happen and that needs to be understood, no need for frustration.
At the end of the day, reading, and comprehension is the most important part, along with writing notes, using screenshots, and most of all educating ourselves.
I have not found anyone as good as Troy, there are some good ones out there, but not like him. Thatās my personal opinion.

Glad you pointed that out. Years of being a moderator on a couple of popular FTA sites we went through the same problemsā¦ filtering out topics or linking them to existing ones asking all our members to search first as there was a wealth of great info without repeating themselves. Also when creating a topic to choose the correct platform (we had manyā¦ like brands, etc.) and to word the topic and the description well. The people who posted nicely got the fastest and best responses. Others who posted a topic like ā I canāt find sat 129 on my receiverā whould get ignored. Thanks for everything you do here, Troy!!!

It has been my experience that it is easier and quicker to post a new message than search through all the useless bs posted that never answers the question asked.
Iāll admit that I have been guilty of this, maybe here, maybe elsewhere. If or when I were to do something like this, itās usually because SHTF and I have kids or a wife complaining about, āsee your little box doesnāt work all the timeā, and it becomes like mission critical. Perhaps I should take time to breath and count to 10. Sometimes I overlook the littlen magnifying glass on sites because these days, with no working PC in the house, because my kids eat and drink over the two laptops we had and spilled liquid in them, I only use a phone for everything. I also am guilty of maybe using one word to search. I donāt come often or post often, but Iāve always found or gotten help. Sorry to anyone if Iāve ever been too lazy or dee, dee, dee, to figure it out on my own. Love the site, emails, apps/pages. Thanks.

Thanks for all your help and support you literally have saved my thousands of dollars and aggravation learning how to cut the cord. Iām sorry that people are so lazy and canāt do any research on their own by creating the same question thatās been answered and explained. Come on people, Troy and his team make things so easy. Donāt ruin it. Merry Christmas!!!

I search for my topic on Google first with an I add in Troy point in the subject. 99% of the time that answers my question or direct me right to Troy point subject. If I have no luck with that then Iāll try the Insiders search engine. Then if I have no luck there I just ask Miki!!

Iāll follow your suggestions and instructions, Troy.
Thanks for all you do, and thanks to the āinsidersā who have helped me many times.

Always good to be reminded of proper protocol because it impacts everyone. These two issues are intimately related but iād say a concise and adequately described topic title is absolutely critical in avoiding duplicate posts. Iāve always said that proper google search training should be mandatory in the school system. If I got paid an hourly rate for all the fruitless web searches iāve performed over the years, my kids would be rich too, lol.
You have a completely reasonable request.
However, this is endemic across platforms.
Few people do the leg work and post their request out of laziness.
Perhaps if you suggest that their post mau take 24 hours to appear? It will encourage people to search the forums.

I haveānt needed to post just searched for a topic. Agree with your sentiment its just that some people believe that they are the only ones with a particular problem. Cant blame them but maybe this post will give them comfort that they are not the only ones, trust Troypoint
