Just think, if you bought ONE share of Nvidia stock (NVDA) on Jan 1, 2024, you could sell that one share today and make more than the price of the Shield Pro.

Just think if you bought a share pre scamdemic, or multiples :money_mouth_face::money_mouth_face::money_mouth_face:

Nvidia stock at the beginning of 2020, before it was a declared pandemic, was between $57-$60. Fast forward to today, it closed at $787.

It definitely would have been a blockbuster buy, hindsight…

I have purchased 2 of the new Mecool boxes. I have not seen a problem. I have had no problems with installing apps and have had no buffering. What kind of problem are you having so I can watch out for it on my device. So sorry that it did not work for you.

I bought the latest MeCool K2 Deluxe with official Netflix, etc… lot’s of ram and storage. I prefer using it to my Shield ( the 2nd ed, that is the one before the Pro). But it’s a bit unstable. The Shield imho is way better, but for some odd reason not as fun. The ads are annoying on the Shield and my replacement home I bought doesn’t work properly on it. I also have the Fire TV Cube & an Apple TV (latest). Amazon is getting out of hand and it’s annoying that you can’t remove the profile screen from the Cube. Tempted to buy the “latest” Shield Pro as they are often hard to get up here, but haven’t. The MeCool is fast, not stable but nice. Apple TV has no ads and always works well, but has restrictions. Mini Windows boxes are not as nice for streaming imho, but have become incredible inexpensive.

I really like that I found ATV Launcher video from Troy. For $3 it is well money spent. It hides everything. Really nice for my wife. No more searching for stuff. Really simple layout.
Plus she likes the fact that the background can be changed for holidays/seasons. Happy Wife Happy life😜

Install a launcher on the shield and get rid of the ads.

I never see ads on my Shield Pro. It loads right into TiViMate where I watch my TV.

Plain and simple answer, NO. Nvidia is a dying breed. Some fanboys can’t handle the truth

And there you have it, fanboys can’t handle the truth

While it’s true that some devices are coming out with better CPUs, GPUs, or combos, and increased RAM and storage, unless you’re a die hard gamer fanboy, the Shield still has a wider, and better range of settings to work across a wider range of TV’s and provides me with an awesome experience for streaming, which is all I really do. It isn’t just the hardware, it’s also the software, reliability, customer service and the overall experience. I gave up on my 4K Max Firesticks and filled the void with the Shield Pro, thanks to some generous ppl here. I look forward to replacing my Shield one day, hopefully sooner than later. But it must be a total package.

@Miki be honest. What customer service do you need? You know more than them. Serious though customer service is not needed or expected from a box. II have 2 very old Stock Android T95Z’s on android 7. There ain’t any customer service, no Box updates but then again none expected or needed. Seriously what is customer service going to help you with a box?

True. I kinda worded that all wrong. You’re right. it’s the updates from Nvidia as well as the huge library of articles on everything Shield related for reference and learning that I rely on. Manuals. As well as the easy access to forums specifically aimed at my device. I kinda lumped that all into the customer service category. Good morning @MarkxG hope you’re doing well.

IMHO what makes Nvidea Shield so good is the people who program and the “know how” of the nvidea people with navigation of the android system. Android is complicated due to its ever changing system and nvidea just seems to “get it” more than most. With newer boxes like BuzzTV you are starting to see that know how in the setup. A good box shows with ease of use for the customer.

The Rocktek G2 I just installed is a serious contender to my Shield pro. (Thanks again TXRon!) I would not say BETTER, as more testing is due, but it is very Speccy and “Rocks” a treat so far. I have not even hooked up ethernet to it yet, just the 6g wireless and nary a beat has been missed. Read up on it when you get the chance! Fwiw, i’m glad i got it and now it coincides in the HDMI2 slot right next to my Formuler box. :grinning:

I’m looking forward to more of your posts regarding this box. My problem is, the best price I can find for Canadian customers is $278, and I’m a tad reluctant to go there until I hear from our insiders and see just what differences there are as well as resources on configuration. Tx @Reece and good day to you.

What about the Mecool Km2 plus. Troy thought it was very good. Half the price of a Shield.

If you mean for me, I had one and didn’t like it. I gave it away to a kid who didn’t have the money for one in Mexico. To this day he loves it.
