It’s great that your able to get a nice discount for 2 years of IPVanish, but it is a bummer that the company will only give it to new customers. Surfshark will let existing customers have sale pricing.

So will IPvanish, get on chat with them. They want your business but you need to ask for the same price as a new customer to retain your business.

I have opened chat with them the past 2 times my renewal came due and got deals both times. Just like Wizzard said, they want to keep your business.

In 2016 ipvanish turned over customer info to the US Government even though they said they wouldn’t do that. They are now owned by a different company, but that made me skeptical of most vpns.

It is possible to make your own vpn server it’s not that simple to implement.

@Avid08m Ok, that would be interesting. Could you please kindly post some really good links that would show the details of this?

You would be better just googling and looking for information on the subject as there a few different ways to do it.
Also information on YouTube regarding the subject.
I have seen it spoken about on forums but it’s not something I have personally done because at the moment I have no need to.

I did google and it’s not at all worth the time or effort for a substandard VPN that we pay next to nothing for anyway. Not even fun to set up and you need to rely on cloud servers so right there we are no longer annonymous. It was interesting to look, but it ends there.

I switched from IPVanish to SS as SS was faster. I selected the “do not renew” in my IPV account and have received multiple offers from IPV prior to expiration to renew at the discounted price.

I didn’t worry about the renewal because SS takes paypal now and that’s how I paid. Never worry about a renewal without your permission again.
