I just reset 1 of my onn 4k , had same issue. Reset to factory n start again. Took me a little to figure how to scroll down to reset to factory n how to select. But finally got it done. Good luck

I just got one from the local Walmart in Prescott Az. It has the back-light remote and everything works fine so far. I agree with others that this is a great price for what you get. I am using it to replace an older Roku which is becoming intermittent in operation.

Does anyone know where one may find a second remote? I have not tried pairing my old Onn 4k remote but I suspect that will not work with the same functionality, if at all.

Just set mine up a couple days ago but had a problem with the image it was sharp and clear but color was a little washed out and very slow with a lag as a have a Sony oled with a great image wasn’t very happy being dumb me threw box away thought i couldn’t take back to Walmart so I decided to keep and supplement my 2 year fire cube which sometimes act up , so just experimenting I took my HDMI cable and swapped guess what bad onn cable it looks good so far no problems so I ordered another cable!!

Unable to do ftp file transfers between s PC and the device using Filezilla. Apparently, write access is inhibited in its file system. I’ve tried two different file managers, Mixplorer an Cx File Explorer, with permissions set appropriately and their ftp servers started. Curiously, I can look at the file system using an ADB shell with the LS command, and navigate through it as you would with any linux box, but unable to do push/pulls to transfer files. Had to use the back door (sneaker net with a USB thumb drive) to write my wallpaper jpg’s to the onn 4K Pro.

Use a cloud and link it using a file explorer with cloud option. What types of files are you trying to transfer?

I also don’t believe your claim about it not being ready for primetime, merely off of this criteria.

This is a quote from mthr1, in another Wally-onn-pro thread, that might help with your remote question. In the second paragraph I’m thinking that he meant the onn-box in pairing mode maybe?

On another topic

You can pair your firestick remote to an android box. A couple of the buttons don’t react as they should as opposed to using the Onn remote, but most buttons function as they should.

Just put your firestick in pairing mode (hold the home button for 10 secs until orange light blinks) then detect with your Onn box.

I ordered my second onn pro to replace the other onn 4k at the familys house. I do hope I ordered soon enough to get the Non-Free Tv remote.

If I get it, I get it but i guess i could always use the non pro remote as its replacement. I’d just be missing the Find My Remote function. Right? I have no need for the backlight. I rarely look at my remote when using it.

I like to have subtitles turned on using Cinema HD & Cyberflix. I’ve used the MX Player Pro version from Troy’s toolbox on the previous 2 versions of the ONN box, and on both, I can select the 3 dots in the upper right corner and select Settings to change some of the settings (I’ve been having problems decoding audio on some sources). However, with the ONN Pro box, I can’t select the 3 dots to change settings. Even using Mouse Toggle to try selecting the 3 dots doesn’t work. Any ideas on how to change the settings?

Secondly, when I use MX Player Pro to select online subtitles, I get a message stating “Can’t save files on your subtitle folder. Please check write permissions of /storage/emulated/0/Subtitles”. I’ve enabled all permissions for MX Player Pro, but no luck. Again, any ideas?

Just discovered a problem with my onn pro my Sony j80 oled with Dolby vision , so I streamed a Dolby vision movie over the weekend and my Sony locked on Dolby vision problem is everything is Dolby vision and only adjustments are Dolby bright or dark or vivid and before I had made all my adjustments custom so when I switched back to my fire cube tv goes back to custom any ideas how to fix? Sony does say when in Dolby vision the set locks u out of all adjustments!! Haven’t had this problem with fire cube after I watch a Dolby vision movie it switches back itself

My onn box gets a after a period of time gets a popup that says box going into standby, press any button to cancel. If you don’t push a button it turns the box off. Is there a way to shut this feature off?

Enable developer options and then enable the "stay awake " option. That’s if going into your power settings options doesn’t work for you.
