I have to say those specs have my heart beating pretty fast. DDR5, 32GB, 256 GB. I need someone to tell me it just isn’t worth it. My brain says No but my heart is saying “Where do I sign.” Does it pop the popcorn?

I’m with you on that! I’m still using Firesticks and while the performance of the 4K Max line is a huge step forward, I’m still thinking that I need to “grow up” and get something like the NVIDIA SHIELD or similar. Tell me I’m wrong!
While I’ve researched the Shield and similar devices, and read Troy’s reviews (does he have one on this device?) I know absolutely nothing about this one.
Those are Mini Pc specs! but you can buy a mini pc cheaper with almost the same specs. Way overkill for IPTV. But who doesn’t like more horsepower!!

Lets pursue this for a minute. Can you add Android to a mini computer and make it act like a streaming machine? I suspect there must be some caveats about this or someone around here would have done it already.

Well the box isn’t even out yet so I don’t think Troy has one. Before you go jumping on a Shield remember it is already 5 years old and there is no sign that Nvidia has any plans to upgrade it. There are other boxes out there and it seems like every other week someone finds another and shares that with us. I am currently using the new Ugoos on one of my tv and it is pretty decent. For that one you have to purchase it from China and I’ve discovered that is always a turkey shoot. You get promises of when it will be shipped only to get a message from them that they are sorry but the warehouse is behind etc. I never learn and never stop getting upset when it happens again and again.

So I couldn’t help myself I had to look at the mini computers. I found a BeeLink for $269. 16 GB ddr5 and 500 GB drive. 3 USB ports, two LAN ports and two HDMI ports. Ryzen 5 6600.
Of course for another $100 you could go to 32 gb ddr5 or you could spend a couple hundred more and take it up to 1 tb hard drive.
Now… let’s get back to that illicit sex question…
Great article TXRon…but WoW!!! $650? Buzz is crazy.
Han Solo paid less for the Millenium Falcon.

Do you need full audio pass through?
Do stream large quality remux files or have your own collection that you like to view from your own nas or cloud storage?
Do you watch multiple iptv channels at the same or make lots of recordings.
If not then you don’t really need a shield or similar imo.

That’s a big price to pay for internal eMMC memory.
You would be better off getting the standard box and add your own memory for recording

MINIX Z100-0dB Fanless Mini PC, Intel 12th Gen N100, 8GB DDR4, 256GB M.2 PCIe Gen3 x 4 NVMe SSD Windows 11 Pro Desktop Computer, 4K Dual Display/2.5G LAN/USB3.2/USB-C/Vesa Mount/Auto Power On
Curious what some would think of this. Minix has been in the mini PC business for awhile and mad the mistake of trying their hand at android boxes, U9H, U22. These I think failed miserably because I have had both and now occupy a spot in a drawer. Very poor CS

First, “move up” to an ONN Pro for $40 on sale. Might be surprised. I was. Benched my cubes and MeCool because of it.

Okay before the ones that are willing to dismiss the Shield that it is 5 years old. Though that being said it is still the best streaming device out there and handles anything you throw at it!

I did a search and did find a couple of more recent Powerstation 6 reviews. We all remember the P6 rollout last August did not go well.
Both reviews were of the 16GB model (RAM) and were very positive. The one reviewer said this was the fastest TV box he has ever tested and that it gave no IPTV buffering.
