Ok, I’m confused. I want to keep using my firestick. Should I just stop using Alexa? What setting do I need to update? Account is already set to don’t save recordings.

Clearly stated in Troy’s Article:
“This change means that anyone who continues using Alexa (including on Firestick/Fire TV devices) will have their commands sent to Amazon’s servers, whether they like it or not.”
SO…including if you update to Alexa +, even if you have your account set to “Don’t save recordings” (as you stated), it does not matter because any thing alexa hears can (and probably will) be sent to their cloud for processing now. SHHHHHH it’s listening…CONSTANTLY!!!

Thanks, I will just stop using Alexa. My 1st firestick didn’t have it. So I’m back to typing everything. I can see other certified devices doing the same thing. Thats not to say it not already happening.
I really like my 4k max. I have the 4k pro ONN box, but I don’t like remote and a couple of the navigation features. I use both daily. Oh well, all go things come to an end.

Im seriously considering that myself.
I will pick #2. Refuse to save recordings—resulting in a broken Voice ID and a less capable Alexa.

I choose option number 3…no more fire devices. Never did get into any of the echo stuff.
