What is everyone using for an antivirus on their smart tv and android streaming box?
I have a Samsung TV, Nivida Shield Pro streaming box and Windows 11 laptop.
I have Surfshark VPN and Advast anti virus on my laptop, just Surfshark VPN on the Nivida Shield and nothing on the Samsung TV.

Malwarebytes.

I only use windows defender on pc’s and never encountered any issues.
Malwarebytes is decent software.
Never installed any antivirus software on any of the android devices I have owned or smart TVs and never encountered an issue in all the years I’ve been using them.
I do check APK’s if they are from third party sources.

What do you use to check a APK before you install them?

I’ve never used any antivirus, malware scanner, cleaning tools, etc on any of my Android boxes and never had an issue. On my windows laptops I use Trend Micro Internet Security

I use Malwarebytes but like @Avid08 and @MarkxG I have never installed any virus scanners on my Android devices and have never had any issues.

I have been able to get Virus Total to work on my PC but have not been able to figure it out on the Nivida Shield.

You only have to check the apk in virustotal on your pc and then you know it is safe to install on any device you choose.

So you download the apk to a memory stick.
Scan it with Virustotal on the PC.
Then put the stick in the Nivida Shield.
Use X-Plore to install it.

Yes of just download directly to your pc or phone android or iOS and check the apk on their website
You could open a browser on your Android tv device and use the virustotal website to check the apk that way.
Either of the ways I have mentioned are fine.

Same here, my Microsoft Go comes with Defender I searched for Defender in the store for my Android V-11 phone and it was available. Like yourself I’ve never seen anything on my phone before, so I installed it and it scans automatically everyday and you can select a manual scan. I installed rapid streamz and defender gave a notification that it was malware and removed it. So from what I have seen so far I could highly recommend it and it was free
