I used IP Vanish for 2 years. Until they disclosed my IPV6 address…even got the nasty gram from AT&T.

I use IPVANISH so i am curious…
They just got a request from AT&T for BGs IPV6 address and gave it to them without any resistance? And all you got was a letter from AT&T?
No explanation? No court order? No massive shut down of BGs criminal enterprise? Ok maybe not the last one…i hope .
Just wondering how easily they give up your info.

I don’t know how they would have got his IP address unless it’s VPN wasn’t working. I know the policy is, the party who believe they were infringe upon their copyright materials has no right to your address or identity so they send a notice to your IP provider advising of the copyright infringement then turn send you a warning not to do it again they’re not supposed to give up your credentials your address or nothing else.

Nevermind…
I think you meant IPVANISH doesn’t support IPV6 so it wasnt able to hide your address.

SS doesn’t support IPV6 either and it’s a reason the servers are slow as they use a workaround to try to accommodate those who have ISP’s who use it … Like mine.

I tested this with my isp and IPVANISH using my Nvidia shield tv pro.
My ISP provides both IPV4 and IPV6. When checking my isp on a website with VPN off it shows both of my actual addresses.
When i turn on IPVANISH and go back to check it only gives me the IPV4 vpn address and says ipv6 not available.
So I am guessing they still do not support ipv6 but can block it if you also have ipv4.
Not sure what happens if you only have ipv6.

That’s not at all what I meant. I said what I meant. IPVanish disclosed my IP6 address to the world. I think it was a feature, not a bug.

Can you elaborate? I am not sure what you mean. How is disclosing an IP address a feature of a VPN?
My point was they were not able to hide/protect IP6 addresses as they dont support it yet.
Saying they disclosed it sounds like they are giving away information that was hidden.
First, it was a joke.
Second, they were supposed to be hiding my IP6, and had been for several months, until they didn’t.
They leaked my IP address.
Get it?
Got it?
Good.

What joke? Sorry i missed it. You were making accusations about a product and I was trying to get information about it.
Ipvanish was never hiding your ip6 address as they do not support it yet.
Yes it may have been leaked as explained in their website.
Who do you use now that hides your IP6 address? There are only a few i could find but never tested.

Received SURFSHARK notification of auto-renewal at huge increase amount. Went to manage auto-renewal and when I chose to cancel, it asked reason and I selected “too expensive”. It responded with “what would be an acceptable price” and a fill-in box. I checked what the latest Troypoint “GET NOW” price was (on this site) - which was save 86% plus 3 free months. It responded to me with $1.99/mo for 2 yrs plus FOUR free months. I supplied PayPal to pay, supplied a regular credit card, paid but did not retain CC in PayPal. Done.

Yeah that doesnt work. IPVanish did that to me for 2 years after i canceled it. The bank told me that they are allowed to do that and the bank has to pay because they have it listed as a subscription. Banks treat subscriptions as auto renew. That way when your debit card expires, " you’re not inconvenienced" LOL

That is exactly how I pay for anything that accepts Paypal. SS does. I add my card, pay it and remove the card. The retailer will never have my card. Shame Amazon won’t take Paypal.

2 years ago , I cancelled my sub to Surfshark. Today, I get a notification that they’re going to charge my cc for a renewal. I’ve notified them, haven’t heard anything back, and will keep you posted
do a stop payment on bank or cards just in case

Don’t use SS but I would imagine you should be able to log into your account on their website and either turn off auto-renewal or remove your payment information. If not either call them or online chat and tell them you want to cancel

Hi Guys
I just turned off auto renew on my laptop. If you look under payments there is an option to turn it off.

Contacted SS about possibly extending my subscription for an additional 2 yrs plus the free 4 months that’s advertised on Troypoint and a customer service guy said he “couldn’t give accurate information” because TP wasn’t one of their official resellers. A poor response
