Having used devices with similar specs to onn 4k pro and the onn 4k plus. I would go for the newer cpu as you can tell the difference in speed between the s905x4 and s905x5m.

There have been a TON of replies (many off-topic) - I think I reiterated most of what I gleaned; I was asking if I missed anything.
And - the newer CPU is the Plus, correct?
Go to the Surfshark website, download the app to your computer and sideload it onto your Onn box using ADBlink or something similar.

The price you have posted for the ONN 4K Pro is not correct. Today it’s only $44.73 on Walmart’s website. I bought mine for $49 about a month ago.
It works great and is a good backup for my Nvidia Shield TV after dumping my Firestick
Those are Canadian prices. I’m in Canada …

Having had 2 firesticks fail and Amazon, now removing some installed apps as “Dangerous” apps, the jump to ONN was easy.
Quick setup and very quick transitions.
I’ve had the pro and appreciate the usb slot and ethernet connects.
The move was nothing. Once you’ve used a firestick, you already know all the moves.

Just a couple of observations:
I wouldn’t trust Wolf Launcher since it is no longer supported. Good news though. Wolf was based on ATV Launcher which is still available. I have launchers on all three of my ONN boxes.
There were two iterations of The ONN 4k boxes before the Pro. All 3 come in different size housings. My powerful Pro is the only one that buffers; so, personally, I would opt for the Plus.

Agreed but this is tempting if you get fed up with all the ads,

Any buffering you are getting is on something in your setup NOT the device. Never any buffering on my ONN 4K Pro. Perhaps you are using a VPN and that is the culprit. Or something else but not the box

The Projectivy Launcher only takes a few minutes to set up and it’s WELL WORTH IT! My screen saver is a scrolling set of beautiful landscapes that just occurred on its own. I didn’t do anything to set it up, it just worked. That’s my kind of technology!

Regarding buffering, the thing I don’t understand is why some sources (On Stremio) that have so many peers on it can buffer yet moving to another that has so many less is flawless. Looking at the stream you can see how many are connected and active on it. That never was the case with a torrent when just downloading. The more the merrier.

Not sure what you mean by “buffering” Maybe it’s a Stremio issue. I use KODI and don’t ever get buffering. I could be wrong but IMO any buffering is not due to device, streams, or anything other than a problem on your end. I never use a VPN but I suspect that is the reason for most peoples buffering. Either way it’s something on the end user’s setup. And no the ISP is not a boogyman and throttling either.

Some users use p2p on Stremio and not a debrid service so they are more likely to encounter buffering.
I never encounter buffering when using a debrid service even if I stream a large remux file over 150gb 70mbs bitrate.

You forgot to mention it could be a defective box.
Suspected there would be pushback to what I wrote. Have already looked high & low for any significant differences in set-up between the ONN boxes.
My Shield & 2 lessor ONN’s still going strong. Not new to this. Thanks.

I’m with you. I literally use Stremio for up to 6 hrs a day without buffering but, like you, I only watch vids and series with a premium server service, both RD and PM, and I always have my VPN on.

I never get buffering with Stremio either; only IPTV.
