I love my Formuler box. OK, maybe not the very latest hardware, but it works really well, great features and no issues for me. That is worth the little extra cash.

I purchased the Buz x5 128 special edition some time ago. It has been nothing but problems constant buffering and freezing when it works! CS was good helping until it came to returning the box. Basically threatened to charge me shipping charges both ways if they found nothing wrong. Very happy with Mecool. Stay away from Buzz productsā¦

Hey Troy,
First off, we really appreciate your feedback and understand how important it is for your audience to get honest reviews they can trust. Your insights are always valuable to us, and we want to be as transparent as possible.
On the PowerStation 6, youāre absolutely rightāweāve held off on sending out review units because we want to make sure all the early bugs are fixed before anyone tests them. The P6 is a pretty ambitious project for us, with brand new hardware, a new chipset, and an all-new BuzzTV app. With all these new elements, there have been some growing pains, but weāve already released two firmware updates since launch and have a major one coming next week that will address a lot of the current issues.
As for the X5 SuperSport, we havenāt focused as much on it recently because the P6 has taken up a lot of our attention. But weāve now put in the work on the X5 SS, and thereās a big update coming for it next week, right alongside the P6 update. This should fix the issues you mentioned and improve the overall experience.
We know thereās been some bumps, and we appreciate your patience as we work through them. Weāre confident the updates will make both the PowerStation P6 and X5 SS a lot better. Weād love to hear what you think once theyāre live.
Thanks again for your feedback,
The BuzzTV Team

I have had my Ugoos AM8 a year and it plays every codec I have tried on it.
The only thing it canāt do is play DV profile 7 with FEL but no Android device can do that at the moment unless you are running CE on the Ugoos AM6+ and another device but canāt remember which device it is. Ziddoo or Homatics device.
Never been interested in buying a
BuzzTV box from what I have read about them.

I agree about the am8. Its my fav box so far, never have tried the new sk1. Ugoos adds no junk to their devices

The SK1 didnāt get much of a hardware upgrade.
Still running the same firmware as the AM8 devices which does work well for me.
But the housing does look nice.

And just to add to this, the Formular is pretty fast, responsive and reliable.
I contacted Ugoos to inquire as to any possibility of a software update so my SK 1 can run at 64 bits. To date no reply, but I still love this box and how it performs.

They will not update the OS to 64bit as there is no advantage in doing so for basically a device designed for streaming or viewing local media.
If you after a device for gaming or want to use 64bit apps as well then you would be better off with a 64bit os.
Ugoos may bring some 64bit os devices in the future but most are happy with the 32bit os media devices that they are supplying at the moment.

It is not. The best streamer is the $49 Onn 4k box from walmart. The more expensive boxes are for hobbyist and those who just want/need a certain delivery.

Well with the Shield Pro itās things like the upscaling and abundance of settings for any level of user, not to mention the speeds. Getting a tad long in the tooth now though. I agree with @TXRon , for just those looking to stream with ease the $50 Onn Pro will do.

not really unless you have a real good tv capable of the display.

I definately see the difference, but as @TXRon said, I spent $6000 on my TV and Sound system so I could use all the features of the Shield Pro. Iām a videophile and love a good home theater setup. Oh and my device is the nVidia Shield Pro.

Well it depends on what you are going to use the device for.
For me itās MYTVOnline app - itās the best there is for IPTV and makes it worth the money. Set it up and thatās it, no more messing about.
If you need official Netflix / Disney + apps, you need a certified box for those apps

The X5 SS got a major update on 10/1/24. It works waaaaay better and is actually usable and thriving now. Before hand it was so buggy that I had to stick to my firestick until this update. It was completely unusable. I was so upset I spent $200 for a broken product but this update changed my mind about it. Im interested to see your review on the X5 SS now @TROYPOINT

The latest Ugoos devices have upscaling.
Upscaling only really works on low resolution content.
If you watch lots of old low resolution content then it will improve the image but not drastically.
I wouldnāt by a Shield now because the OS is no longer supported and if you watch any live content with HLG the itās also not supported.
No HDR YouTube. No av1.
I doubt they will rollout anymore updates.
Doubtful if they release a new model either. But you never know
