Anyone having an issue with Trakt not staying authorized in the Umbrella addon? It has happened to me for a while and it seems to be correlated with updates because I usually get a notification that an update for Umbrella is available at the same time. And when I do authorize Trakt again, it asks me if I want to make it my service for watched and unwatched indicators. I have my widgets setup on my home screen for my collection of TV shows from Trakt. So it’s really annoying when it keeps revoking authorization.

I havent noticed this yet.

I have trakt authorized with Umbrella on both a Build on Kodi and on a Troy Fork as a stand alone addon. Both are still authorized.

The only difference i had recently and this may have absolutely nothing with your issue but ya never know…

In the Diggz build i used Account Manager to authorize both my Debrid and Trakt accounts. Recently Trakt can no longer be authorized with Account Manager.

I had read on Diggz’ Wiki Help page that this was due to the AM developer moving on from the addon. But who knows.

I’ll keep a lookout and let you know if this happens to me.

Edit: People are still complaining about Trakt on Diggz Help page. If you used Account Manager you need to revoke all of the authorizations and then authorize each individually.

Apparently Trakt changed the Authorization Token Setting according to someone there.

The Trakt token used to last 3 months it now has to be refreshed every 24 hours.
The devs should have updated their application to account for that change.
The Umbrella dev definitely applied the Trakt 24 hour refresh fix when the change was made by Trakt.

Seen reports on Reddit that accounts manager no longer work correctly with Trakt so as mentioned just authorise Trakt in each add-on that you use Trakt.

I’ve had this same issue  so much so that Umbrella is now the one addon I don’t even attempt to authenticate Trakt anymore. :person_shrugging:

What version of Umbrella are you using?
I have latest version 6.7.46 and never need to re-authorise Trakt

Yup for sure I’ve had this issue with Trakt and Umbrella as well. Seems everytime there is an Umbrella update I have to Revoke authorization with Trakt and Reauthorize again. Becoming a Pain in the A$$

Same version now, but I think when I opened it yesterday it was 6.7.45 and it probably updated. So, it would appear to be an issue with updates breaking the Trakt authorization. Wonder if anyone has contacted the developer yet about this issue.

6.7.46

When it updates I have never have issues with Trakt. Not sure why some are tbh and not see it reported on Addons4kodi subreddit.
I would try to and remove it from connected apps in Trakt account and then clear all cache including Trakt cache in Umbrella add-on settings then authorise it again in Umbrella.

You know what, it may be because of the crew wizard clearing all cache on startup. But I would think the Trakt authorization is saved in the settings file.

Every time I see there is a an Umbrella Update I also get the message I need to Reauthorize Trakt BUT Trakt is already Authorized? I get rid of the message by Revoking then Re-authorizing Trakt. @Jayhawks659 may have figured this out as the Crew Wizard being the issue

I don’t recommend clearing cache on a regular basis but each to their own.
I just means it has to reload all the metadata every time you clear it.

What do you use Crew wizard for?

Also using Crew wizard on every startup.

I use the Grindhouse Build and used The Crew for 2 years before adding Umbrella to the Build. So I’m assuming that’s why I have the Crew Wizzard. I suppose I could Nuke the Build then Reinstall Umbrella and Coco scrapers as a standalone but that might be more work than having to Reauthorize Trakt. I’ll live with it for now

I have been having the same issue with Fen Lite addon, under the latest Diggs build. Xenon.

I don’t use builds or wizards.
But at least you now know what is causing the Trakt issue for you and others.

I don’t get why revoking and authorizing Trakt is seen as being a large PITA.

Well, because my father calls me every time it breaks and can’t remember the steps to fix it lol. I’ve got to walk him through it step by step while I’m logged into his Trakt account and he reads me the authorization code off the TV. Plus, you just shouldn’t have to reauthorize every time there’s an addon update.

Aah, now that makes sense.
