You must be referring to the Pro unit and not the Plus. The Plus doesn’t have a built in Ethernet port.

Scored pretty high on the benchmark test for the price

The Android 14 is kind of limiting on the Onn Plus box. There are apps that are incompatible with it right now. I’m sure down the road that will be worked out but you won’t be able to set one up like a regular Onn or the Pro.
Otherwise, it’s a pretty decent box.

How to enable the AI upscaling on the Onn 4k plus

I have been watching the 4K plus and it isa now in the stores. HOWEVER, both on store and on line only show it as a Google TV device. I have one but have not yet installed it. More to follow?

OK so I got the box up and running and I have to say I am impressed. For the $30 price it is outstanding. Installed Surfshark, Downloader, Analiti, TVMate, Projectivy, F Launcher and my on demand app. I was concerned at first as the download and upload speeds were in the 95-100 range. I have had no buffering. I connected it to the same TV as my Shield (different HDMI port) for comparison. The picture on the Onn is superior to that of the shield (which is pretty darn good). As I said before, it is now labelled Google, but it is still the same unit, just different packaging. The remote is the same as the original Onn Pro. I still prefer the Onn 4k Pro over the Plus for the speed, ethernet and memory capabilities but this is a great replacement for the fire stick 4k max. Auto correct is driving me nuts. EDITED: Surfshark speeds were in the mid 70s but no buffering. Next Edit: I have gig speed internet, checked my Nvidia speeds and they are at 950/725. Still no buffering so all is good. I believe switching to Tivimate from the provider app has a lot to do with it.

Thanks for the review, sounds fantastic for the price vs performance, went onto Amazon to purchase ..it looks like the Onn not available in UK unless I’m missing something)?

Would Amazon offer the device anywhere?
The ONN streaming devices are direct competitors to Amazon’s Fire TV family.

IMPORTANT! Special thanks to @bobsherman6790 YouTube visitor who points out that USB devices do work with USB-C OTG if debugging is off. Video coming soon for this!

The one thing that would disqualify this for us is its inability to recognize external storage. Fairly often we end up playing shows or movies via an USB thumb drive or an external SSD.

Hello, see my post right above yours about this. I’m doing a video right now about it and it will be ready soon.

for me storage size is all matters now just my 2c

I will check out the storage/Ethernet dongle video tomorrow.

I read the review and bought a Plus this morning, it came to my door from Walmart at about 3:30 PM, the site said delivery today but the store is 20 miles away in a different state! I didn’t really expect it.

It’s all set up, Projectivy is running, getting the exported configuration file from my 4K Pro was a bIt tricky but managed it with “LocalSend” and MiXplorer. It was much easier with “Send Files to TV” which is how I did it in the past but Projectivy just hung on import rather than starting LocalSend.

For some reason Send File to TV can’t find my devices, used to work… it’s updated for 14 but didn’t see any devices, I turned private DNS off as the app recommends, used ADB and verified. (although I question why DNS would matter on the LAN) now for the major pain of signing into all the apps that require it.

For grins I used “Button Mapper” and mapped the “home” button and the “Free TV” buttons to the Projective app, I do that on my 4K Pro too, that works for me for the Home issue @TROYPOINT. (Mapped a double tap for Google TV home because sometimes that’s useful as well.)

I purchased the Plus box to test it a little for my own knowledge. I don’t need another box, but you know how it goes with us infatuated with boxes haha. Anyway, so far so good except it seems to not allow me to turn on accessibility feature. It slides over for a split second and then back to OFF position. ProjectIvy is better with this mode on, and mouse toggle needs it as well. Anyone else have this issue? If this has already been discussed I apologize. I read down through and didn’t see it.

Yes, everything you mention same with me which I point out in the video. I show how to enable mouse mode in a different way with tvQiickActions Pro. Hopefully Projectivy gets updated to fix that problem as not a big fan of using Launcher Manager. Have fun with your new toy!

Ah perfect, thanks @TROYPOINT! I haven’t had a chance to watch your video yet, but will this weekend. I did purchase QuickActionsPro a while back, so with your instruction I should be able to get this fixed. Thanks again!
