I’m going to be setting up my new Shield Pro on Tuesday and have a couple of questions on installing some apps.

  1. I want to install ATV launcher and Troys instruction says to turn the ab bugging on. I have seen some posts where someone installed it and it didn’t work until ab bugging was turned off … which way should I try to install it?

  2. I have Stremio v 4.4.168 on my Windows PC. I have Stremio v 1.6.9 on my current Shield. Is there any way to install v 4.4.168 on my new Shield? I prefer the layout. If not, is there a way to a the calendar to my new Shield and my current one? I didn’t see any apps for this in the community addons.

  3. Stremio always defaults to " best fit" when I start it. I almost always change it to “fit screen” Is there a way to make “fit screen” the default?

You can download the various builds here. I have used both the android tv and mobile versions on my shield without issue. You might have to just try them out to decide.

Thank you …on that site, it just list v 4.4 …if it’s v 1.6.9 how do you roll back to 1.6.8? Or is the windows version different than the Android version? The layout of v 1.6.8 is better for me.

If I can’t get that version, do you know a way of adding a calendar to the version I get. (assuming there is no calendar)?

windows versions and android are different.

The windows version of stremio is completely different for android. You can do a heck of a lot more with the windows version or PC version. It gives you a whole month calendar of your favorite shows that’ll be broadcasted, easy downloads to your PC. My 4K Maxx fire stick version is different from my Pro Shield version. I like the 4K Maxx version better however the shield Pro scales up the picture.

I also got a Trakt account and installed the addon in Stremio.

Thank you …I’m going to install the Windows version on my Shield and see if I get the same version that’s on my computer. I really like the calendar. Thanks for the reply.

I don’t think the windows version will be compatible with the Shield.

Thank you … any thoughts on adding ATV launcher. On my firestick, I added Wolf and launch on boot. When opening, it still goes to the firestick home page. I have to click on the Wolf icon to get to the Wolf home page. I don’t mind it, it’s just another click, but it would be nice to have it boot up to the Wolf home page.

I haven’t used a stick in over a year. I had Wolf but at that time it needed Launcher Manager installed and set to boot to Wolf. It was pretty easy. You had to have launcher mgr and Wolf as they worked together. Troy had a tutorial. Let me see if I can find it. I assume that this is the 4K Max and not the latest Fire OS 8

Thank you …I think I have boot on launch, not manager. I will install both when I hook up the Shield on Tuesday.

There are so many different ways of doing things and many here have tried different methods. So search for what you want to do, and if you can’t find exact instructions, or don’t quite understand, then please ask. Let us know how you make out.
