I am using Kodi on a Fire Cube with The Promise addon. Everything worked fine - almost no buffering or other issues - until a few days ago. Now everything I try to play freezes and buffers for 30 seconds or more, every minute or so.
I restarted the cube and cleared the Kodi cache, but that didn’t help.
I thought it was my ISP so I tried connecting to my phone’s hotspot (which has worked fine before.) That too does the same thing.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

It could be either your isp or vpn. Test your speeds with and without the vpn. You might try switching vpn servers or protocols.
When encountering buffering please take a look here, lots of info.
