I just downloaded app and updated setting. I will use as a guest, don’t plan on signing into my youtube account. Don’t need to save favorites nor subscrible. So far I like it. I started having to change my vpn location often when using SmartTube. Its was always requiring me to login to watch a video on certain vpn locations. Not everyone encountered that issue. Hoping this doesn’t occur on this new app.
Really like this app. No ads just make this thing incredible. Quality of the picture is also great. I logged in using. My Gmail. Account. That’s another plus. I can’t say anything bad. It’s that good.

Did anyone else lose the shortcut on installation?
Excellent find! So much more similar to the native YouTube app on my phone. I love SmartTube, but find the interface a little ‘clunky’. I will have both installed on my TV and compare them over time. One negative point I’ve found so far is voice search doesn’t work on my Fire TV. Apart from that, so far it’s superb!

Miss many of Smart tube customizations. Speed up/down with remote buttons.
Side bar editing.
Reading comments.
Unless I’m missing things on this UI. Have not used the standard YT ap for a long time

“Reading comments”
There are comments available on Smarttube? Gosh, I’ve been using ST since Troy first posted info about the app. I’ll need to look a bit closer.

So, if Watching as a Guest, are features limited or do you get the Full Monty ?

I think it will be like using regular YouTube as a guest but no ads still. But I haven’t actually tried it as a guest tbh.

Clarification:
Comments were available on other videos. I may have been viewing one where they were disabled.
I think I will stick with SmartTube, but will have TizenTube loaded as a backup.
I was going to say the same as gary325, I miss reading comments as I watch video. To access comments on Smart tube, while watching hit the enter key and mouse over the icon on the top row that list to the left of the search icon. It looks like a square with little line (like comic book balloon)- The video will shrink a little and the comments show on the right. I love that feature.

Checked it out. Nice app. Only thing It doesn’t have that smart tube does is a way to shuffle videos in playback of created playlists. I have a 400 video music playlist that I like to shuffle playback on in the man cave. Hope they add that in the future. For now will probably use both.
I’ve tried loading it but keep getting parse error. Anyone have any tips for me?

@TruffleShuffle4Me Welcome to the Insider!
Did you use the Troypoint toolbox? I just loaded TizenTube up a few minutes ago.
Yes I did. I was able to load Smart tube instead so it was only an issue with TizenTube.

Hmm, that’s odd that the link in Troy’s toolbox didn’t work as it worked well for me. I’m a VERY BIG FAN of Smarttube but did want to try out TizenTube. So when I noticed that you were having trouble I gave it a shot. I can’t see why it wouldn’t work for you.

What I also noticed is that while reading comments, the main window will shrink to allow full view of the video. I think this may be a feature of Android 14 as it started showing up after my non “plus” got upgraded. Always visible on the Onn Plus.
What I miss in Tizen is the opportunity to not skip “ads” per channel. Another feature missing in Tizen is remapping remote buttons to perform other features (speed up/slow down is my fav).
That’s why I’ll stick with SmartTube with Tizen loaded and ready to go if SmartTube gets stuck on 403 issues.
