For those interested in root access, the SK1 comes with a root switch via the Magisk app. By enabling this feature and restarting the box, you can gain root access, allowing you to customize the box even further.

So while I’m admitting my ignorance, I didn’t know about the root switch either. I quick read tells me that is like a key to the back door of the box allowing me to change anything I wanted i.e. operating system. So I don’t know the difference between Android 11 and Android 14 or any of the other Android TVs. Is that something I’d even want to update? Miki are you giving lessons???

Hey I have never had a box with a root switch and I would have to do a ton of learning to know what it can do for me. @TXRon is far and away more knowledgeable about that stuff than I am. Same goes for widevine and as far as certifications go I have never watched you tube or netflix.

I’ve been reading up on the newer SK1 and thinking I’ll pull the trigger on it for our primary TV. Will the X4Q be a decent choice for secondary TV?

The x4 is a decent “stock” box. No certs. Sorta like a mecool box. Would be great as a 2nd tv box for iptv, kodi etc.

When i go to that site on my android phone it converts it to english for me.

Same here on Brave browser. As soon as the page opened a popup appeared asking if I wanted to translate to English. :+1:

Same on my Pixel Tab when chrome opens the page. Translate pops up on the top. Trouble is I don’t feel I can trust this site.
