The United States is taking another step toward blocking access to pirate websites. Representative Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) introduced the Foreign Anti-Digital Piracy Act (FADPA), a bill that would allow rightsholders to obtain court-ordered site blocks against proven piracy websites. These blocking orders would apply to internet service providers (ISPs) and DNS resolvers, a move that…

I hope not…

I have read so much about this subject on Troypoint, however, I’m not sure or understand where sites like “Sportsfire” and “Rapid Streamz” for example fall in this category. They are free but broadcast all sports and other genres for viewing.
Are they or will they be exempt from the purge, because they are free?
Thanks Troypoint for the information on many subjects involving internet etc.

I don’t see how it can be done. At least not within the next 100 years or so. There will be all types of stop gap bills before anything real will be actually put into law…

I wonder just how many brown envelopes, are being passed to those pushing for anti piracy laws, by these mega media companies.

Whoops, forgive my cynicism.

Really? The only way they will ever stop digital piracy is to turn the Internet OFF. Just like they attempted to stop music shares, they will fail with this bill. It’s time-consuming. It’s expensive. And sites will change addresses. And let’s not forget technology. New technology is created faster than politicians or content owners ever do. With the right software, anyone can download just about any digital media and own it from any content subscription service available.

Understand why you might ignore Zoey! Richard Nixon also ignored Zoey, until he didn’t.

Hey folks we need to write to these representatives and explain that we pay for an internet service to be have access to the internet I don’t want my IP service sitting right next to me while I’m using the internet cuz that’s basically what it is why was if I want to watch certain p*** that I don’t want nobody to know about everybody’s going to know I like to watch certain kind of p*** just an example. It just really touches the nerve with me you know it pays actors so much money millions and millions of dollars to act you want to start worrying about budgets that’s where they should start first not people are just trying to watch a couple of movies TV shows that really can’t even afford to eat work 35 years of my life with the teamsters belly budgeting food and I got to have now they’re going to have my now they’re going to have my eye and my ISP provide a sit next to me when I go on the internet got to contact these representatives and if anybody needs anything that I can help please contact me I’ll help anyway I can we have to make a United front against this action cuz this is where it starts I always hear everywhere about privacy privacy privacy privacy terms and you know it’s all about selling stuff selling the information they don’t say nothing about that though anyway I’m rambling on I apologize it just hit a nerve for me you know I also find this as an excellent hobby I learned so much from this site now they want to take that away from me too like I said please anybody need is anything I could do please reach out to me donate a few dollars I don’t know something I play I’m going to be right in the letters to my representative tell him that my family and my friends will not be voting for people out taking action against freedom and censorship if that’s what it is so is it the Democrat and I don’t want to get political California go figure always say this standing up for the little guy and they always just step all over us like a bunch of hypocrites All right that’s enough please any I could do please you could see how passionate about it thanks for let me express myself man

People need to stop being complacent and start voting out these politicians who do the dirty work of the entertainment and other industries . There should be a law prohibiting any lobbying at all. We all know it’s just a legal way to bribe politicians. This bill and others like it are not helping the average voter , but only put more money into the already super rich entertainment and cable industry.
