That’s what I did too @AJS1
Then searched in here before asking but didn’t find any other posts

Did you check to make sure there arent any updates for the remote? I remember having to update mine when i first set it up. Look under settings and i believe it will say if you have an available update.

If not, do the buttons work outside of kodi? Like with amazon prime or another streaming service?

Or you may need to reset your remote. Ive never done that but i have seen it mentioned here for other issues.

Just an off-the-wall suggestion. In reviewing several older threads one suggestion was to change the batteries even if the remote has new batteries. Also, you might check to see if the remote has an update available. These suggestions were regarding to ONN non-Pro remotes but worth a try.

Hopefully Mark will jump in on this as he has a lot of experience with the 4K Pro.

The buttons work outside of kodi for Amazon Prime, YouTube, Peacock…

You said youre trying trakt, I don’t use tract so no feedback for that but did you just try your addon without trakt? if it works without going thru trakt then maybe its something to do with the way trakt is working or not working with the rest.

This all sounds like problems with the apps since you know the remote works and sends out the right codes. If there is any information on those out there, I would try and research that or if others here are having the same problem with a difference device, they could chime in.

Geez @Patachou sorry to hear this. I’ve never had problems with the ONN 4K remote. So when you hit the circle center button you are saying the KODI in play menu doesn’t come up? Which then allows you to access any of the features such as pause, backward, fast forward, subtitles, volume/language etc…

Trakt vs non Trakt is not the issue here. Perhaps try to unpair the remote then pair it again but I’m not sure how to do that.

I am at a loss as to what is going on here

If you are still searching for solutions. Try the Troy kodi Fork for 21.1 and see if that works.

If it does, you may want to delete and reinstall kodi 21.1 as there may be an issue with the one you have.

That’s what is driving me crazy, when hitting the center circle button it doesn’t take me to the Kodi play menu so I can’t access the option features like you mentioned. Instead, it stops playing and goes right back to the episode or movie that I chose and have to try and play it again, but unfortunately with same puzzling results :face_with_monocle:

I did download the stable 21.1 omega from Troy’s :toolbox:
I’ve never tried a fork application before. Thanks for your help and advice :+1:

No problem. Just below the Kodi options in the Toolbox you will see TroyPoint Kodi Fork 21.1 (and older versions). It is basically a copy of the original kodi with minor changes.

Wait… So you are not getting the remote error on the KODI Fork that you are getting on Native KODI? That is really weird but if the Fork is not giving you the error that’s good!

If thats the case, my only guess is the original kodi download had some error. Whatever it may be.

Is all working ok now @Patachou ?

So how do you figure tract has nothing to do with it, it’s the only thing the poster has a problem with, EVERYTHING else works fine.

It’s not a Trakt issue. Everything else does not work fine. He’s unable to invoke the KODI in play menu. This has nothing to do with Trakt

Well this is the quote from 3rd post from Patachou: “I’m using the onn 4k pro remote. It works for everything except when playing a video (from trakt collection for movies and TV). It won’t work when I press the middle button in the circle. Normally it will pause and allow me to use the right side of the circle to move over to the settings for subtitles, etc…”

Not speaking for @MarkxG, but what i understand he is saying is that Trakt isnt involved with the playback of the movie/tv show.

You still need to select your addon and use the Kodi player. It is in the Kodi player that the problem seems to be otherwise @Patachou would never be able to select anything to get to that point.

@Patachou hasn’t said the problem doesn’t happen if Trakt isnt used. That would make a big difference.

I cant rule anything out completely because i really dont know. Hopefully a reinstall fixes it.
