Indeed, that’s why I suggested trying kodi and an addon without Trakt, to see what would happen, seems perfectly sensible to me. Could very well be a corrupt kodi, which is more than likely. I may have misinterpreted the post. No biggie, we’re all just trying to fix problems.

I just downloaded Troy’s Kodi 21.1 fork to try to see if that will clear up my onn 4k pro remote problem. I’ve never used a fork app before and I’ve searched how to set up the fork once it’s been installed, but I could only find a guide or tutorial for Firestick. Do any of you know if Troy has a video guide on how to setup his KODI 21.1 FORK for onn 4k pro android tv box? I’ve tried almost every idea you’ve tried to help me with, but still not solved :confused::worried::slightly_frowning_face:.
I also would like to uninstall the KODI OMEGA 21.1 that I downloaded from Troy’s toolbox that is giving me the error problem with my 4k pro remote. But, I would respectfully like to request if there is a way to backup the files or settings before deleting the entire app?

The fork 21.1 should look just like your kodi 21.1. The way you set up kodi is the same for the fork.

Or am I missing what you are asking?

I wasn’t sure if the fork was the same because I’ve never used one. Thanks for explaining to me. I always get confused when I see a guide or tutorial and it says it’s for firestick, which I don’t have, so I’m always searching for guide for android like my onn 4k pro box. Sorry, I didn’t want to bother anyone due to my technology ignorance.

Firestick and onn being both android, the process is very similar, in a lot of tutorials it will say for android devices do such n such.

@Patachou just think of the Fork as another copy of KODI. You set it up the exact same way. Install your Addon(s) or Build, Authorize Real Debrid and Trakt (if you use it) and good to go

Yes it will work fine on your LG TV, I have the 4k onn box on my TV works fine

My Pro just crashed for the 3rd time.It now lives in a dark drawer never toi see the light again. I really kept my patience with this box and just can’t figure why it keeps doing this. Same apps, same setup on my other boxes, no problems. I have had a lot of boxes over the years and never have any of them crashed. It is frustrating when you try everything and think it’s all good and then BLAM! Where is the weakness in this box?it not up to being customized? I ran an apps only, no launcher homepage. Didn’t always run my VPN because my TM sometimes worked better without it on. Usual apps, Stremio, Kodi, YouTube, Sparkels, LIV golf, nothing strange. It has to work well for my wife to use and can’t have it go down every few weeks or so. I really wanted this to work because of all the features but I’m at my end of patience. Thanks had to vent a little. Actually going to pull my Minix U22 out of storage and start to use that again until I find a decent replacement

I’m so sorry to hear about all the grief you’ve been through with this box. I can feel your frustration. You’ve certainly done everything possible from what I’ve read. Curious, did you ever have/use the non-Pro version ONN?

To be honest with you, I have the Pro box and haven’t messed with it in over a month. I tried several weeks ago to fool around with it and it wouldn’t work until I powered it down/restart. I’m just too satisfied with my Shield Pro and old 2nd gen Cube. I really bought it try out Stremio but haven’t been motivated to mess with it.

Mission accomplished! I un-installed KODI 21.1 OMEGA that I downloaded from Troy’s toolbox and downloaded his KODI 21.1 OMEGA FORK.
After installing the FORK version and setting up my addons I played a video and held my breathe hoping I could pause it and be able to see the options for subtitles, audio, video, etc… Everything works now! My onn 4k pro remote works perfectly. So, it definitely had something to do with the KODI 21.1 OMEGA that I got from the toolbox.
I want to thank ALL of you who helped get me thru this nightmare … @JPM69 @howsitdo and @MarkxG
I guess we can now say Case Solved!!!

There is nothing wrong with the KODI 21.1 in Troy’s Toolbox. I and several others can attest to that. BUT @Patachou I’m glad the Fork is working for you!

Good question, Miki.

I really like having options which is mainly the reason I bought the ONN Pro while having a fully functional Shield and Cube. I, like Mark, am a big fan of Kodi as it is in my comfort zone. It’s intuitively easy to get the streams I am looking for. The old adage “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” comes to mind. So the intention for the ONN Pro and Stremio was to experiment as well as offering a new option. I will get Stremio set up on the ONN but just have too much going on in my life right now to concentrate on the set up.

Yes I did have the non pro and it crashed as well. Sits in a dark drawer. I kept thinking something was wrong on my end and I had the same apps on my other boxes and there were no problems. I really can’t make sense on this because so many others are having no issues. I went in and did everything that Troy did in his video. I even went and bought a power supply that gave 2.0amps instead of 1.5 because some thought that was the issue they were having. I reall, really want this to work because when it is working it is really good
