Replaced my 2019 Shield TV with this device. TV is LG OLED C2 and Shield is terrible on it, the ONN 4K Pro is much better, best picture yet. BIG ISSUE is I have a Home theater aoperate by a Logitech Harmony Hud and Onn will not pair, Onn freezes and power cycle is way out. Any help out there?

Tried both ways, tried as Shield TV, tried as Chromecast with Google Tv, tried as Nexus, and so on. Sent email to Onn, we’ll see if they say anything. Don’t know how to email Logitech.
Thanks for replying.

With the shield did you go into the Power Settings and enable the IR settings. The Harmony HUD is older tech and from what I’ve read everything is IR so you may have to go into the device settings to enable IR Settings. On that LG TV the Shield would provide a superior picture to anything else you’ve named but it does require finding the proper settings for your system. I think the Logitech Harmony HUD has been discontinued but seems there are a number of you tube vids that may help. You’re the first one I’ve ever heard using a HUD.

Thanks for replying. Shield works fine with the Harmony Hub. Just did not like my setup with LG OLED C2. Moved it to Roku 4K LED Tv and it is happy. Onn does not pair with the Hub but has the best picture I have yet to see on my OLED. I set it up with apps and logins on the LED the shield is now on (no Harmony Hub). Someone on another forum about Bluetooth pairing suggests turning off Developer mode and trying. I will give that a shot and report back.

Ya the shield has dozens of combinations and setting for audio and video and it does take a lot of testing to set it up best for different devices. For me I’ve never found any other device that provides me with such amazing picture. I have a Samsung so HDR and HDR10+ is amazing. I have the dev options on but there are very few settings that I actually use.
Just read that Thomson have licenced the exact same device as the Onn 4K pro to sell in the UK . Thomson streaming box plus 270
I have been unable to locate a WalMart store in Canada or on line to purchase the ONN 4 K Pro. Assuming I will be able to purchase one in the future, will the USA model be functional in Canada if I use a Surfshark server in the USA ? Similarly would a USA model be functional in Canada using a Canadian VPN ? Thanks Troy

They don’t sell the Onn streaming devices in Canada even though they sell tons of Onn equipment. You will have to get it in the USA. Like any other streaming box, it will work in Canada, just never expect them to actually sell them. The people in the electronics dept. don’t even know they exist. Pity. I have two Onns and I will be getting a Pro by the end of the year. It took me three states and multiple trips to get it. (Vacations) The VPN is not an issue and you can use any server in the world that gives you the bandwidth you want.

As MarkxG said, sure but the price will be so much higher and I’m not sure about duty and taxes that will also be added on when it’s shipped from the USA. It won’t be a bargain to be sure. The 4k Onn would have been around $50 and don’t forget the exchange on the money. It’s no longer a $50 device. `

@Miki what do you mean by “Region Locking”? I just updated my ONN 4K Pro. It said
- System Patch Level (SPL) update
- Minor bug fixes
EDIT: - Nevermind I read the article and understand.

I’m certain that that is going to frost a lot of folks that bought one for Europe. I assume that it’s going to affect Canada also?

Yeah i have a feeling now that Europe is getting their own version of the box there was an agreement to block the US Onns.
@Miki would a vpn get them around this? I know you dont have one but just curious.

A VPN should allow them to bypass geo blocks.
