Confused as well what @Timwort meant but will take a shot  I thought he was trying to say you couldn’t record shows on HBO, HULU, Netflix etc… I no longer use Tivimate as my IPTV service has it’s own app BUT when I did use Tivimate my services had streaming channels such as HBO, Showtime, HULU etc. Since you can record on Tivimate I don’t see why you couldn’t record live shows from these channels? I probably completely missed the original intent so could be way off base

Also this is when I was using my old T95Z Plus boxes running Android 7 not 14

I think we found the answer. I posted a new thread as well.

Looks like they halted the update for now.

I can’t understand why walmart/onn went ahead with the push to android tv 14, when parent company google halted their own devices from it. Sounds to me like android tv 14 needs a whole lot of bugs fixed before it’s rolled out again.

Make sure you do the external internals external storage I know that can sound confusing I did that and then I put the apps on and a lot of it went to the external internal storage previously I had the apps on already and when I added the external internal storage most of it didn’t go on the external internal storage if that makes sense I hope you understand what I mean by that other words do all that before you start downloading anything stream on

Funny cuz I went looking for trouble wish I would have never updated I had everything set up perfect until I updated to Android 14 it assumes all my kodis were corrupt

I have one. I have preloaded it with my favorites for when I travel for work. I always get a motel TV with sucky cable or house system. My last stay away, wouldn’t allow me to load ONN box, so I had to hardwire Laptop to motel TV. Better than nothing. Love my Three Stooges. Showing my age too!

Hi so I setup my Onn 4K Pro and the issues I am having is when I use the search on the screen or I use the mic on the remote weather I am searching for an App or others… it always bring me to YouTube and it’s videos. For example I try searching for Amazon Prime … YouTube opens up and show me videos. How can I fix this please? :slightly_smiling_face:

Not sure if you can change the settings. But if you want to search for an app or game use the search bar in the ā€œAppsā€ section at the top.

You will notice it says inside the search bar ā€œsearch for Apps and Gamesā€. Using voice search here will look for apps and games only.

If you search using the Magnifying Glass icon you will notice it says ā€œsearch for movies, shows, cast and moreā€. Thats why you are getting youtube recommendations.

Hope that helps.

So you are going to Apps in the top Google TV menu and searching?

The easiest thing to do is press the microphone button and say ā€œOpen Play Storeā€ then type into the search box the app you want. (Voice may not return apps).

Maybe this isn’t the problem you are having but it is a common problem with Google TV showing video links rather than an app option.

Thanks I will try it :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks I will try it and reply :slightly_smiling_face:

No problem. Both should work. @Timwort way may be an easier and more direct way for you.

True it loves to go to YT when you search from the main screen. Try as mentioned to use the search within apps, playstore etc. That being said, it’s showed me some pretty amazing music on yt that I never saw before.

Has the 'droid 14 update issue been resolved?

Not sure @JerryJ . I just happened to see the article on my phone.

If anyone sees an updated article please post on TP.

I’m guessing the already updated devices will get the newer update when its available.

Does anyone know the proper settings so I can view dolby vision and hdr content.

@JPM69, thank you for your reply. I recently bought a new TV and dealing with some setup nightmares. So I haven’t attached the ONN pro yet.

I figured I would just wait on that until everybody says all is good with the 14 update. Oh and I’m not in any hurry so I’ll just wait, on that, until I see that the coast is clear with the update.
