Yeah sorry not sure why. Have you tried to use the voice command to power them on?

Make sure when you set up your remote buttons in the settings you have Power options for both devices.

Fast task killer was mentioned in this post, mine is quit working on my fire stick 4K it’s not releasing any memory anymore has anybody else had this problem?

I think that was one of the apps that quit working when Amazon disabled 3rd party ADB access.

Is that why the app killer and the cache cleaner also don’t work

Yup. AFTVnews has all the info. Middle of February I believe this all happened.

I guess I missed that, works on the shield.

Ya this was an Amazon thing. An update.

Yes, I mentioned that a few weeks back, if not in this section, somewhere, or it may have been via PM with Miki. I noticed Fast Task Killer not working a few months back, and after running it, the (so-called) freed memory actually INCREASED! I just deleted that app and now just manually clean the good old fashioned albeit slower way by going into each app and clearing cache. My stuff is still running clean as a whistle Under the Hood, buffer free, and nary a complaint from family or friends. My Current devices are: Firecube 3rd gen (Ima run’em till the wheels fall off!) NVidea Shield Pro (Wheels will prolly never fall off) Formuler Z11 Max (Runs both Slicks and Rain tires!) Rocktek G2 4K (4WD, Way Underated IMO) and now the soon to be famous ONN 4K Pro Streamer. It’s a 4 banger, but hot off the line & handles nice between the ditches!
And Remember folks…they aint revved till a rod is slung!!

Hey Reece FYI, the ability to clear all the cache at once is built into the Shield. Settings>Device preferences>Storage>Internal shared storage>Click on Cached data> click OK voila done. Then if you have background apps and process list installed you can open it and close your background apps. Maybe in your 4 banger Onn as well, check it out.

I’ve thought about this and i may have both power on together because my tv is set up with Anynet+ (hdmi cec).
So when my tv turns on the sound bar does as well.

I have the onn remote set up as IR so the SB volume works on the onn remote.

I would check to see if you can set it up this way too.

Thanks… I will

Curious, how did you set it up as “ir”.
My remote pairs as Bluetooth?

Im not at home right now but if I remember correctly, when you go to settings and remote setup the onn pro gives you a few opinions. There is CEC, IR and one or two others.

It tells you what you set up each remote as. I’ll try to take a pic later of my set up.

But my Samsung tv is set up as Anynet+ (hdmi cec). That’s where i believe the sound bar is getting the signal to power up the soundbar. Not sure if the option in the onn pro will work the same.

Yes my Samsung TV Anynet is enabled and soundbar is connected via optical to TV. I’ll play with it some more but if you could send Pic later I’d appreciate it…

I have my streaming device connected to my Samsung soundbar HDMI 1 and then ARC out to Samsung TV ARC in. I have my remote setup with CEC and when I turn on my system the soundbar turns on which turns on the TV and my Shield is starting as well. Within about 30 seconds I’m in TiViMate watching live TV. My entire System was new last Oct and the System has the new “One connect” box that does make it easier.

Here are the pics of the way i set it up and works for me.

Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck! :crossed_fingers:

Nice set up. I have 7 year new tv lol. It also has the one connect box. What a great feature but i heard they may be doing away with it. I hope not it makes plugging in the hdmi cables a breeze and less wire clutter behind the tv.

Exactly and it does everything for ya. I also use SmartThings installed on my Phone and my Pixel Tablet to control all my soundbar and TV functions from my easy chair. Lots of options in the shield settings>Display & Sound> Power control. I don’t ever use either the soundbar or TV remote. They’re tucked away somehere. :face_with_peeking_eye:

I still use the Samsung One Remote. I just set up the Onn Pro with it as well so we will see how the all get along together. Lol

I’ve tried smart things but i like my phone seperate from the remote. I use it for other things.
