Hi @Rocker69,

Agree, don’t care for the remote. I like the firestick remote better. Going to see if I can pair a firestick remote to ONN box. Lol, will definetly need a video to walk me through the process.

You can pair your firestick remote to an android box. A couple of the buttons don’t react as they should as opposed to using the Onn remote, but most buttons function as they should.

Just put your firestick in pairing mode (hold the home button for 10 secs until orange light blinks) then detect with your Onn box.

Ok, I guess in the “club”. :slightly_smiling_face:

I was out and about today running errands and was close to a Wally so i stopped in. They had 5 or 6 Pros so I jumped on the bandwagon.

Mine came with the back-light remote. When the associate pull the box out I looked at the date code since i had read that the earlier codes only had the remote that everyone was getting. My date code 2409A (the 9th week of 2024) which I recall was the earlier one. The article said that the “Free TV” button model was produced in the 10th week and later. Anyway, I’m with Mslea and not a fan of the remote provided.

I probably won’t get a chance to set the O-Pro up until later next week. I am looking forward to Troy’s wonderful setup tutorial leading me through the process. THANK YOU TROY! :+1:

NOTE: I just reread the write up on the backlit remotes. The writer did state that he had not heard of anyone having the box with the date code of 2409A. Just an FYI.

I have a friend going to the USA next week, they will stop by a Walmart and see if they have one in stock, cross my fingers they do. If they do pick one up for me looking forward to setting this up and comparing this to my Nvidia Shield TV Pro and my other Onn 4k box

Thanx @PiratePete , Just returned my 4K pro to Walmart yesterday. Taking chance that I might get the backlit. Remote. But I’m glad you brought that point up. I’m gonna reset the one I exchanged. I just leave it with the remote that it comes with. Which was not the backlit. Was gonna keep returning until I got the legit. Remote.

Hey btw, @PiratePete , had any luck adding storage? Tried on Onn 4k n pro but they just didn’t recognize the thumb drives. Fat32 formatted, did 3 different ones. Followed tp vid to the tee.

Smart things, huh? So is that the way to go?, w/ my Onn pro remote n all things Fstick ? Better than Fstick remote ? Cuz In goin thru this return my 4kpro to wally world till i get legit backlit remote, only tried once n got the reg. remote, but don’t think iwanna spend my gas$ ridin all over town for dat?

Oh Smart Things is just to control my TV and Soundbar settings and Config. I use the regular Shield Pro remote and set it up the way I want. Then when doing some major typing and config I use a mini 2.4 GHz KB with track pad. This new video from Troy should help you with storage as well.

Thanks. I’m going to look at that new video, but I’m pretty comfy Recording with t v mate. But I will look at it. See if I learn something new. TY, By the way, I just returned my onn proTo Wally yesterday to see if I can get the remote w/backlte , no luck. Gave up on dat, baklite’s overated . So I added a hundred and twenty eight gig drive to my Onn pro, it’s a monster now. I like to download movies, but when I travel and don’t have good wifi.

I don’t have the onn pro ( yet). I’m waiting for the backlit remote. I haven’t had the news to expand storage as I have a Google TV with 4 HDMI ports and each one has a streaming device plugged in :eyes:

In developer options you need to disable USB debugging if you expand storage.

I lost TP vid on adding storage to Onn 4k pro. Added thumb drive succesfully, but having a challenge using custome launcher. I remember, i think that he disabled adb debugging after added storage was complete, but i think he went back a enabled ir thru the android settings in the launcher. Little help or just shoot me link for that vid pleez

Thanx @MarkxG Hi saw that One already, but he does not address the issue with launcher. He did another vid. I think it was the full review of the on four k pro

Is it in here>>>>

I installed the app launcher so I wouldn’t get the ads, but decided I didn’t like it so I uninstalled it. Now, I can’t get anything except Netflix. How do I get back Google tv with all my installed apps?

All I get is a black screen, and rem
ote won’t work.

Not sure what launcher you installed but you should have also installed the Launcher manager and used it to return to your stock launcher before deleting the launcher you installed. Now you will have to factory reset your ONN.
