I got two ONN Pros this week. Both had non backlit remotes. Plain Jane. But I do love their find the remote button. Excellent!

Almost forgot about the cracker jack prize… lol wondering what I get.

So just like a couple of folks said earlier they messaged me and said my order for pick up was cancelled. However they would deliver free of charge. I could not find out when delivery would be so I cancelled the order completely. I decided to drive to the store and look around. The first lady said they did not have any. She did not go look but said they may have some on the truck. I passed by the counter a lady was there buying two of them. There were boxes there at the counter not sure how many more they had but I got one. I have yet to set it up.
Update, after following TP video to set thigs up, the issue I am having is picture quality. I have a reddish static look. Possibly my connection or a hertz issue? I will need to relook at the HDMI connection.

You have too much time on your hands. Do you know what speed you need to stream 4k?

Of course- somewhere between 25 and 50 MBps. And you’re right- I do have too much time on my hands, having had a back operation with…“unintended consequences” that will keep me housebound for the next month or so (aren’t you glad you asked?..but I digress). But there’s also a thing called “shared bandwidth” that could be an issue with some folks, at least for upload speeds.

In addition, for various reasons, I have my 4kPro relatively close to my WiFi-5 wireless modem, and, at least with the original ONN 4k box, noticed that at times that proximity was a detriment in that, from what I could tell, the ONN 4k’s radio would get overloaded with TOO STRONG a wifi signal. The 4K Pro box recommends that it be mounted AT LEAST 12" away from the modem, POSSIBLY for the same reason. Hence I needed to know how an ethernet connection would perform.

I picked up 2 Onn 4K Pro boxes the other day, set one up like my previous Onn 4K box, and installed Downloader and 3rd party Apps and Apks with no problems until I installed the Adguard app that I use on all my devices. I can’t get Adguard to open at all when I click on it, I’ve uninstalled and installed it several times and can’t get it to open when I click on it, any suggestions anyone?

Hi Troy,
I hope you get this. I rebotted my Onn tv Pro streaming box with the debugging set as on and guess what ? It disconnected my san disc flash drive just like the previous Onn tv devices. Sooo it has not been fixed.
Tks

I think Troy’s video refers to this and explains how to do it correctly.

Texas. But I’m guessing full retail price plus shipping wouldn’t be worth it to some.

Thanks for letting me know this. Maybe it worked on mine for the first time as it rebooted when I did the format. I appreciate this message.

Where is the correction for this on the Onn 4k PRO?

Just bought the last one Walmart (near me) had and my remote is the same as Troy’s. Just setting it up now. OOPS !!!..thanks Troy!

Strange request, but could someone that has the remote with the “Free TV” button post a photo of that remote, please and thanks?

Are you able to DVR shows in Tivimate? I still can’t get Onn Pro to record to my USB stick. Permissions are turned on for Tivimate apk and USB stick

Sorry Troy,

Can’t seem to add reply to your ONN 4K Pro video. But think you need to know how I ruined my new ONN 4K Pro and maybe add a warning to your next review video.

Not your fault, but I followed your video and after installing flauncher and launcher manager, I went off-script and used launcer manager to go ahead and change to flauncher, then went to home, didn’t care for the simplicity, and decided to just uninstall flauncher. OOPS I should have used launcher manager first to reset home to the default ONN home. Now I just have a blank screen. Home is gone. Rebooted a few times but home has disappeared.

Oh, and, of course I shut off google assistant so talking to Google does’t process even after turning microphone back on. Funny, only buttons that work are Disney and Paramount, both of which I disabled. Everything else on the remote is gone, oh, and the 4 lights are red, unless I press Disney or Paramount button, then the turn white when I get the subscribe page.

So I tried the reset button on the box itself and all lights go white, I can only get the pair remote screen, which I do for 3 secs and then get a blank screen with 4 red lights. Totally baked device without a factory reload.

Oh, how many ways can a duffer screw things up once the get access to developer options. Seriously I have been with you for 7 years I think and love everything you’ve taught me. Still using my gen2 FTV, a firestick a mecool, set up friends and family devices, and never stepped in it this bad.

My fault. Going to buy a new ONN 4K Pro tomorrow.

Thank you, Explorer! Maybe a stupid question but how does one pause what you are watching? Or backup or fast-forward?

After I bought one of the ONN 4K Pro’s online and it was delivered the same day, I was at my local store shopping for a few things and thought I would see if they had the 4K Pro. Went to the electronics department, and sure enough, they had around 12 in the store. Couldn’t resist, and bought another.

Did you completely unplug the power, wait a few minutes, then plug it back in? Others have done the same thing and fixed it with a complete power cycle.

I also have the ‘old’ remote (no backlight and also no led lights on top of the Pro box). I called the 888 number on the side of the box. I was told to return it to the store and purchase another one. I’m debating that option. Works great but I’d really like the lights for confirmation that I turned off the box. But that’s just me.
