I wish I could get my hands-on one of those. Onn 4k pro box but I live in Canada, so it will be a while before we see one. If it’s like any other controller, when you’re watching a movie, not live tv You just hit to select button on your control and it should come up with pause or play.

New Onn 4k Pro box. Picture scaling adjustment not present in settings. My orig6Onn android box has display size adjustment in settings; the new one does not. Can this be added in an update? My TV does have that adjustment. Is there an ADB command for scaling adjustment? TIA. :+1:

I am in eastern Kentucky, and just purchased two Onn 4k Pro’s (on Saturday), and both have the remote ithat is not backlit.

My testing has been similar to yours. I’ve only used USB A 3.0 adapters. Cable Matters, Anker & the Amazon Basics. All of them work under a specific condition… The adapter must be inserted in the USB-A port AFTER the box has booted! Speeds were approximately 750/750 on my AT&T Gigabit Fiber. I was VERY excited.

Until I did a reboot. All of them failed. No Joy.

As a further test, I tried several USB SSD 2.5" USB 3,0 enclosures. None of them were found after a reboot. If inserted after a reboot, each was ejected automatically after a period of time. As has been mentioned, these drives may need to be formatted from the device and then removed to put all the files required. I might try it later. But I don’t really need to have directly attached storage as my Plex server provides the needed connectivity to my NAS.

We can only hope this is a software failure in the USB A 3.0 port software.

I finally set up the onn pro to the family tv. Just an FYI

I set up the onn remote to turn on my tv and sound bar. If you ask Ok Google while the tv is off it will turn your tv/onn and sound bar on. The results will be in your tv screen and an audio reply. Not sure if you can just have an audio response.

Also if you are watching something else cable/dvd etc it will switch to the onn to answer your question.

I’ll probably will turn it off all together but just want to test it out first.

I don’t use ONN devices but I do know that there is a certain order you must do things. Once you have an USB drive formatted and setup on the ONN you must eject it, turn USB debugging off, reboot the device, turn USB debugging back on and insert the USB drive. Someone can correct that if it’s in the wrong order. Not sure if you insert the USB Drive with debugging off after reboot and then once the USB Drive is recognized you turn USB debugging back on. But there are only a couple of different ways to do it so someone can try either way and let everyone know. I’d have to check my settings on the Shield but I’m pretty sure I also have to leave USB debugging off after the Drive is inserted or with the debugging on the drive gets ejected automatically. I’l double check.
I just checked on my Shield Pro and under

Debug mode when USB is connected

Has to be turned OFF in order for my USB Drive to be accessed and used for “Removable storage”. I leave my USB Drive plugged in and use it all the time and can do so after every reboot without issue.

TXRon, Just curious, have you tried the ONN universal remote on your new ONN Pro?

Is there a way to turn this box on from sleep? On firestick, you can typically press any button (or at least the home key)

I setup my 4k Pro last night, came in today to setup some apps and i couldnt get it to show on the screen. Had to unplug.

Fyi, I have the non backlit remote

Did you see my post just above? Having the remote set up with the tv and sound bar you just have to say ok google and they will all turn on. Or just press power and they all come on together too.

Edit. It might depend on the tv too but thats how it worked on my Samsung.

Gotcha. The ower button ended up working, but I use a projector, so it started the power 1 of 2 to turn off. I just tried it again. It looks like hitting the hone button works too.

Miki,

The USB drive was not my main concern. However, your suggestion about USB debugging was SPOT ON! I put the USB-A Gigabit adapter in the port and attached my CAT6 cable to the switch. It worked. I turned off the USB Debugging and rebooted. It took a touch longer to link back up. But it DID connect. I rebooted once again and it came back again multiple times. These tests were with the Anker adapter and the Amazon Basics Adapter. I’m not saying I got them ALL my adapters to work. I haven’t tested the Cable Matters adapter just yet, but I will tomorrow morning. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Thumbs UP!

I installed Cinema on it but am not able to sign into Real Debrid, for some reason when typing my credentials, it won’t put #, it keeps showing as No :pensive:

My 32" Samsung has this problem. Used TV setting to adjust kodi size and didn’t work. I’ll keep fiddling.

My Onn. 4k pro arrived today. Followed Troy’s video setting it up. My remote is non-backlit. So far, everything is sideloading. Only hiccup I have run into is Surfshark. D/L’ed from the toolbox. Says im using an old version, I update and install. Says it has installed update, but it still the same old version. Not sure what is going on with that. So far, I like the box for half the price of my MeCool KM2 deluxe.

Thanks again for an amazong review. I just picked one up here in NJ and I did not get the backlit remote. Also it looks like Analiti is back in the play store.
