I’m out! Great specs overall but the ethernet spec was a deal breaker. I’ll wait for a gigabit port. Why onn opted for an older technology is beyond me as they amped up everything else. I strongly suspect it’s just another tiresome corporate upgrade strategy. I realize gigabit may not be needed for current streaming, but i’m getting tired of decommissioning old tech as technology advances.

I understand the reasoning your using but i’m also a tech guy and ive tried most every box out there and while the Shield imho is still the king its also old tech. This onn box fits the needs of most streamers and if I had the choice of say a full blown formuler box at $100 versus a ONN box at $50, im taking the onn box hands down. It is the first box imho priced as it should be and works extremely well. :+1:

IMO Ethernet is OLD Tech…I gave up Ethernet about 5 years ago. High Speed/fiber WiFi is where it’s at. Love my ONN Pro!

Ah…but ethernet technology is also advancing and still outpaces WIFI. Fiber is pretty well standard to the home now. As a trained physicist I have concerns about higher speed WIFI especially in the 5G range and above. I’ll only use WIFI when absolutely necessary. It’s common knowledge that the powerful Telecom industry has not done its human testing due diligence in 5G tech. I’ve chosen my weapons, you can choose yours. I’d love to have an onn pro as a backup to my Buzz boxes but I refuse to play their upgrade game. Enjoy!

What are your concerns? Works great for me. And if you try to tell me some conspiracy theory or there is Malware I’m not going to believe it. There’s way to many conspiracy theorists and nervous nellies on this Forum

I also prefer eth to wifi whenever possible. The 100mb on the onn works well for tv.

You’re better off. The remote that comes with backlit buttons has a sub-quality " ok button" that clicks loud and feels cheap. This as per Luke Bouma. If you watch his new onn 4k pro YouTube review he demonstrates and shows the remote. I myself am going to wait and see if they do another release with this remote but with better quality.

Sorry I couldn’t resist

This is not the case with the onn 4k pro. The Ethernet port is 100mbps and not a gigabit port. The wifi 6 technology used in the onn 4k pro is 3 times faster than the Ethernet port as the Ethernet speed will top out at 100mbps reguarless of how fast your fiber optic home internet service is.

I have Tivimate on my Onn 4 K Pro. And it works. The only problem that I have with this streaming device is setting the screen size. I don’t see no ware in the setting to do this.

Although I read that someone using a powered USB Hub with Gig ethernet port plugged into the USB port on the ONN Pro got 448GBs down with ether. Didn’t bother copying the article URL as the ONNs aren’t anything I care to use.
I found the video. It’s from the same guy that initially brought us news of the Onn Pro Release.

I recall reading that as well, but not sure what thread it was in.

Miki I got a good one for you…

Wax ONN Wax OFF lol

You can adjust the screen size using your TVs remote control

I work with a lot of psychiatrists that used to think the same thing.
