I am trying to install Mouse Toggle for my Firestick but keep getting the above message when i click on the link on the Troypoint webpage in AFTNEWS Website. Does anyone else have this problem and how can i get around it if anyone has a solution. Im running Surfshark VPN.

Open downloader and put this in TROYPOINT Toolbox Mouse toggle is in there click Download

I tried and both 1.12 and 1.06 downloaded fine.

EDIT: I don’t use a VPN for Troypoint, why would you? He only post legitimate software for download.

I have the exact same problem. Surf shark on or off. Can’t attach a screenshot of the error msg! it can’t open the app’s download page, ā€œnet::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVEDā€

ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONs or apk’s to try? None on Toolbox or Aptoide seem to work.

The error implies a DNS issue so have you changed DNS in someway?

Well, most of the apps on this site are ā€œunverifiedā€ but they probably don’t pose a risk until you install and use them.

And how does a VPN help with that?

Hello, mouse toggle no longer works as it’s been blocked by Amazon if you didn’t disable updates. I think I will remove it from Toolbox as most people have updates enabled on their Fire TV devices so might as well just get rid of it.

I use the mouse in ATVTools. I really only have a couple things I use it for, but it’s handy.

It is a handy app and available for iOS as well…

No I have not messed with DNS. Every other link works. I’m using an OpenWRT router thru Luci if that would change anything? But weird everything else works. Thanks for the help!

Ok Troy! Thanks for being on top of this. Is there another mouse with the fire stick/TV remote? Someone just mentioned APTV Tools, I think it’s called.

Compatibility and stricter firmware seems to make later build fire sticks 4K/Max harder…

Thanks again for all you do!

Is the Troypoint Rapid App Installer still available. When i cleared/reset my Firestick I lost it. Now i can not find it again.

How do you disable updates on a Firestick. I hate it when Amazon do things like disabling apps. Or blocking access to install apps.

No more rapid app installer. But there is a toolbox.

My Firestick has updated and i can not even install a kodi fork from Troys page on AFTV NEWS in Downloader. Any one got any fixes?

Got up 3 days ago and can not load kodi. All I get is a black screen, using the firestick. Can someone please help?
Thank you

You probably want to give a little more information, how much memory is available, what load/build are you using, which Firestick. I don’t really know if it will help find an answer but there isn’t enough info to really help.

@Graham1 , I just went out to the toolbox and downloaded and installed the 21.2 Omega from the toolbox and downloaded and installed the 21.2 fork, they both run on my HD Firestick so the software appears to be fine.

I have the newest firestick, have IPVanish with killswitch, I had just downloaded a kodi bulid onto the stick. Can not remember what all I had.Told me I was using 4.28gb of 5.35gb and had 1.06gb left.
Anyway I just went in and reset Kodi and now will have to put everything back onto it. I am wanting to add more memory to this if at all possible. I am not really sure if I am even doing all of this correctly, should have done all this when I was younger.

So my guess is that’s going to be a challenge with that amount of free space and Kodi, what you can do is get 32G USB stick and a OTG cable and expand the storage, move all the apps you can to the USB stick to get a couple Gig of free memory. Kodi uses a lot.

How to Expand Internal Storage on Firestick & Fire TV Cube (2022) .

I’ll be honest I stopped using Kodi and won’t use it on a Firestick, I have, but the newer the Kodi the more memory Kodi uses, also some of the bigger builds can be an issue.

If you are going to use Kodi and you can’t invest in say a 4k Pro or even a 4k Max Firestick (both have more memory) you should consider light Kodi builds and remove most other apps, remove cache on a regular basis and don’t let a lot of stuff run in the background, every app you start stays in the background, it’s the way Android works. They aren’t out right running but the structure is there and does use some memory.

You may have seen the thread about the ā€œBackground Apps & Process Listā€ app, it’s used to forse stop apps so they no longer run in the background and to clear cache.

Adding internal storage is a different set of problems, on Google TV/Android TV apps will update in added storage but not with the Firestick so there is painful process for that, I added a reply about how to do it somewhere on this site.

You’ll want to format the stick to Fat 32 but all of that is in Troy’s post.

Other may have a different opinion as to how to proceed but that’s my two cents worth. Good luck!
Feel free to ping me if I can help.
