I am an ex-pat Brit now resident in the US. I like to watch UK as well as US TV but because of the time difference I watch mainly on catch up using the apps for the major UK channels - BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, Channel 5 - they are much more convenient to use than a browser. From time time these apps need updating and as they are not in Google’s or Amazon’s US App stores I need to switch my country to the UK to do so. For this reason I continue to use my FS 4KMax because Google restricts the number of times you can switch country per year where Amazon does not. Other app stores carry iPlayer and ITVX but I have never found the others.
Later this year I will be visiting the UK and my intention is to buy an android streamer and load it with the apps while I am there.
I would be grateful if an Insider who is a UK resident and who uses these apps would recommend an android box which runs them successfully. A few years ago before I emigrated I bought a KM6 which would not play ITVX for some licencing reason so this is why I am seeking info on a box that actually works.

For Android devices that support all UK catchup apps you have Google chromecast, Google streamer, Amazon devices and the Shield.
Apple 4k TV on iOS also supports them.

Pretty much what @Avid08 suggested, i use an nvidia shield tv pro in the house and also have a firecube 3. I use a firestick 4k max gen1 in my caravan when travelling the uk and it does me fine.
I know you dont use kodi but i use the catchuptvandmore addon which has itvx and channel 4 in demand which is great as no annoying ad breaks.
