Oh no. I have mentioned numerous times this has absolutely nothing to do with the ONN it is entirely to do with Android TV. It’s the same on my KM2.

Ok. My final day with ONN and I have a question for all you big time techies who use the ONN. When I first installed the ONN and set it up speed tests with an active VPN connecting to 6 different wide spread servers averaged 90 to 100 MBs down with uploads always just over 1 yes 1 that isn’t a typo. Now I have tested throughout the day, every day. This is day 3 and now download speeds have dropped to 40 to 45MBs down and still only 1 up. Still plenty good enough down for streaming but I am wondering why the slowly degrading speeds and if anyone else has noticed this. I am also wodering why such poor upload speeds. Thanks for any help.

I’ve also noticed way slower upload speeds thru my vpn (surfshark) the past couple of days…no loss in up speeds when vpn turned OFF tho…not sure what’s going on with that…??? Just did a test on my ONN & same…I know you use proton so I can’t quite figure out the correlation

ONN on wifi…KM6 thru ethernet…both low up w/vpn. Also…download is unaffected…

I get 92 down 5 up Analiti. The fiber test gives me 160/23. This is with SurfShark running. Without VPN 300/10 with Analiti same with fiber test… I have no idea what is going on this week. My plan is 250/10.

I’m only getting 2 up myself…I thought my ISP was just doing some maintenance work on their cable plant, but I guess it’s more than that. Maybe we should put this to the the whole Insider family & see how widespread this is…?

Thank you for verifying that. May just be a www issue then. I thought it was just me lol. Still not sure it isn’t.   :grimacing:

Hey…if you hadn’t mentioned something…I would’ve continued thinking it was my ISP…so thank you

did a quick test with vpn newyork 163 down, 18 up ping-20

I unplugged the ONN and plugged the stick back in. 80 to 85 down and 57 up. ping 57. So definately device related. I just can’t figure out why. Oh well, moving on tx Ron.

Just pulled power & reconnected KM6 & ONN…no difference on upload speeds…both @ 2 Mbps. So not device related here…still a mystery.

Odd indeed. My Max is the same as always. Wondering now if not device related could it be OS. Maybe an update? Just guessing now.

It’s got me baffled, especially with rjwinkler also having issues…wonder if the rest of the world is experiencing what we are…maybe the 3 of us are just goin’ thru some bad mojo…

But once I put my Max back in I’m back up to full song. I say GREMLINS.

Ha ha…guess I need to load my water pistol & go gremlin hunting…cause I’ve still got em :face_with_monocle:

Hey @TXRon Can you test your KM6 w/vpn…maybe it’s an android 10 thang…???

that test I posted above is using the km6 and vpn

Today I’m getting 120/5 on the ONN with VPN. I get 300/5 without VPN. Yesterday I was having trouble with Stremio hanging up, today Stremio is working fine on the ONN and the MAX. My plan is 250/10.

Well…you’re getting higher up speeds than me on my vpn…My plan is 300/10 & get 325/12 (via ethernet) on my KM6 without vpn…160/2 with it…on my ONN I’m getting 240/11 (via wifi) & 120/2 vpn…yet no up speed loss at all when using Surshark vpn (Firefox/Chrome add ons) on my computer browser…only with my streaming devices. It’s a head scratcher fer sure…I first noticed the speed loss on Monday.

Just checked Grandson’s ONN and with VPN it maxes out at 2mbps up. Never been that low. I’m going to do more checking tomorrow. Anyone have both Chromecast & ONN? Just wondering device comparison from a user rather than waste my time reading different things

And…we now have Mecools, Firesticks & ONNs getting 2 megs upload speeds on VPNs…guess we’ll have to wait for the Shields, Ugoos & Buzzs to chime in. Chromecast is built into ONNs & other Google Certified boxes…but I also used to have a Chromecast dongle with YoutubeTV & run everything thru my Google Home Mini speakers. I would occasionally cast to the tv from my android phone or chrome browser. I never had a remote with my 1st gen Chromecast so I can’t speak of those with one.

I bought the Chromecast Google TV edition when it first came out. I was hoping to like it but unfortunately I had to jump through a lot of hoops to customize it. Android devices are usually easy but this device makes it hard. Sadly I ended up returning it to the store .
