Hi
I forgot to mention I am not using firestick, I am using mecool km2.

The easiest way is add a usb drive and set it as internal(but you can do external if you want)>>>>if set to internal it will be formatted to fit androids structure>>>you will see within file manager a folder called movies and you can use that or whatever folder you want. Go into tivimate>>>settings>>>other>>>recording. Its here where you direct tivimate back to your folder of choice.

Sorry, but the setup should be roughly the same.

Thanks for the advice.

I can’t find the reference recently,

But isn’t the max size for a program recorded using Tivimate onto a USB stick 4GB?

never heard that but not saying it isnt so. You could be referencing the file size allowed by format such as ntfs vs fat. Fat is restrictive and nor recomended…??

That makes sense, regarding the format.
My current main daily driver is the ONN with a expanded adoptable storage. That thumb drive was formatted FAT before configuring.

Does that thumb drive retain being FAT?

never used expanded storage on an onn box, ive always just used it as a backup tv viewer. Not sure how it would format a stick but you can with a pc format it to ntfs and then use it as external

Can you do this with an external drive, connected to a router, i.e., the cheap@$$’ way of NAS?

Tivimate recording to external drive on android box @ 11 and above

i think these guy’s have fiquired it out on how to record to those android 11 boxes with prob’s getting sys picker to work? interesting read

C&P’d interesting

Try the guidance in this link. I did it via connected keyboard. It’s peculiar to firestick but may work for your device.

Also works for android 11 and above for newer android boxes

You will need a keyboard and mouse

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.marc.files . . . which is just a shortcut to the hidden android system file picker/manager, which can access all those “system” Android/Data files

google only wants to install on my devices? how do i download an actual apk copy of the app ?
thx
seems alot like file manager + wich won’t actually give you write permissions to external hd in tivimate? i tried to? didn’t work

found this..is it the same file?

You searched for Files Marc apps & software - APKMirror

I’ll see if I can find you an APK. This is the “file picker” native app. So it will allow you access permission which is all you need.

Thx Miki
for some reason wouldn’t let me download the file in edge but downloaded fine using firefox
you know i like to play with older android os…i have newer os boxes also but the older os seem to play 4K video better on my setups…wich are older…i have a shield and buzz…but seems less hassle with my older ones to play 4K with no shutter…gonna try this on the newer android os boxes i have..i’m old and poor but if it ain’t broke? i’m watching 4K smoothly
