I have both surf shark and IPVanish, I have tried both on TiVimate and smarters pro, both have basically stopped working all together in the last week. I have tried everything! Different login info/url for xstreams from (Iptv provider) and changed protocols, cities, countries, Turing clean web on/off you name it. I have reloaded each app on my nvidia shield and nothing.
-It appears to obvious issue with the VPNs, it works perfectly on both smarters and tivimate when the VPNs are off (I know I don’t want to do that) but I tired it to test. Has anyone noticed this lately ? Could my Iptv provider be blocking the vpn Ips or maybe xfinity my current ISP?

Try the free Proton. I use express and have neve experienced one bit of an issue. Express also has a free trial period you could test out.

Also have you tried updating SurfShark and IPVanish? Most VPNs update time to time and eventually the older versions stop working. Free protonVPN is a good test IMHO!
I am having the exact same problem with my shield pro with both those vpn’s but does not seem to be a problem for my mecool km6 running 3.4.0 version of sufshark and 4.1.2.2.180695-gtv of ipvanish on my shield pro are they the latest ?

hi all
so your having iptv service issues while using surfsharkvpn
some iptv providers use IP Region Lock meaning the vpn server that you joined your iptv service with the first time make note of that ip once you do that open surf shark select the city you did when joining your iptv service if you can remember the staring of the ip you used when you joined your iptv service you may need to run surfshark select city then turn it on and off and check ip to see if you get connected to the right ip starting with xxx of the ip you used when you joined iptv once u see the right ip then open iptv smarter pro or whatever app you use log in and enjoy tv again I know this is a bit of a mess but until surfshark fixes this issue this is a great work around and has worked for me and should for you too.
also if you use nordvpn or expressvpn you will not have this issue like you do while using surfshark hope this helps
I have some issues with one of my services not agreeing with a lot of surfshark servers if im on wireguard or IKEv2 unless i use the chicago server, then it works fine, however if i switch to openvpn it will work on any server, might be worth a shot
I have Nord and never had any issues. I chose the Automatic -unless Im going out of country. I have to say Nord is smooth.
Anyone else having a problem with surfshark blocking the iptv service recently in 2025?
So what I’m hearing is Nord vpn may be a good alternative?

no ,it’s been working great for me.
I have issues with certain IP addresses with the vpn on for iptv. have noted which ones for chicago work for my two iptv accounts.
anything starting with 138 or 185 have worked with all accounts I have had
The last few days Surfshark has been blocking some of my IPTV services. I have 3 providers and at any given time it will take out 1 or 2 of them. In the past I knew which US cities not to use but now I’m lucky to get one that works. I’ve switched to UK with some success, but it’s hot or miss. This is happening on 3 ONN 4K PRO’s as well as my Shield. It is also happening on my daughters Amazon products in at a different location/Internet provider. Tried using Static IP and also tried different protocols. On one of my ONN’s I got a notice to update my Surfshark (it was the same latest version I have on my other boxes) but it would not install. I would her the message it was downloading and ready to install but wouldn’t. I finally just switched over to my backup NORD VPN and it works fine…even on the Chicago server which I could never use on Surfshark. I’ve had this problem on and off over the last couple of years but would just pick another city and all would be good, not anymore. Any ideas other than just ditching Surfshark?

I have been having the same issues with previous working cities-country’s working . Now I have been finding other locations until one is found that works. Issue seems to be with one of my iptv providers that was fine before. Maybe something in a new Surfshark update can’t seem to pin point yet.

Just an update to my issue. I purchase the 2 year option for ipvanish and tested connections and my iptv provider. Surfshark still has issues with connection when using certain favourite locations. With ipvanish locations were fine no issues. Tested speeds between Surfshark and ipvanish. Speeds are almost identical with Surfshark about 6mbs faster than ipvanish.

I have been using SS for several months for IPTV. Connecting via several different US servers. Earlier this week they launched an update all that I can see now is the blue spiral. No connection to my IPTV provider. Contacted SS tech support and they say that they do not support IPTV. They said it must be my provider. Absolutely no help from them.
Cut SS off and everything works fine.
Switched to some Asian SS servers and everything works fine.
IP Vanish, everything works fine.
Any ideas on what is going on?

They might be starting to block iptv domain address on certain servers in certain locations but they won’t be advertising it publicly for certain reasons. Namely losing customers and money.

Maybe try in your settingfs, Protocol and switch from Wireguard to OpenVPN (UDP)
That may work for you.

I have a similar issue where my epg was not being updated. I changed to a different server, all worked fine turns out the Miami server from Surf Shark is blocking the IPTV epg service. So when my guide show a fail in Tivimate the cause is surfshark switched to the Miami server. A pain but it works
