My guess, and I havent seen the list mentioned, it may be the regular Onn 4k not the Onn 4k Pro.

Wasn’t there a discussion several months back that a review indicated that the processing speed was the issue with the Pro box? I can’t remember what site listed the processor speeds, though.

I found this aftv review from May 2024.

The Onn 4k Pro is not at the botton but the Onn stick 1 is near the botton of the 2 lists. Obviously not the same device we are talking about.

These are the same rating methodology used for laptops and game boxes, not as relevant as adequate CPUs with good RAM and enough storage IMHO. OUTPERFORMANCE needs definition. How does 1gb RAM with 8 gb storage outperform 3gb RAM/32gb storage with respect to streaming devices ?

I’m not saying anything about the list other than i think @Boligee read the results wrong. If he read and referred to this list from AFTV.

I have no idea if those results are accurate.

I do know the Onn 4k Pro is a great device for my streaming needs. :+1:

Thanks, and I am sure you are right. But I have been using Wolf launcher on 4 other devices and have had good luck… I’m just sticking to it and if it f’s up… i’ll be done as well.

I only wanted to know why people liked the onn box so much in my original post,but when I mentioned it had low scores,many seem to think I made it up or was incorrect.,for everyone who loves the onn box great,I was just asking a simple question,and reviews on here usually are big on scores and features.

I think those results don’t show real performance, like the other wise posters are also thinking. The proof is in performance, if anyone has a firestick that outperforms the onn pro, lets hear from them. In my own experience I’ve used a firestick 2 known as the tank and it’s performance doesn’t even touch the first onn. Very doubtful it surpasses the pro. If those numbers are accurate, then it must be something ELSE that makes the pro much better and smoother than firestick, right? Question mark is because I don’t have the tec creds. (Oh no I didunt say geek) to know what that else might be.

I didn’t try Projectivy but yep a couple other launchers messed me up as well, didn’t know there was a certain way you had to uninstall them. Seemed too complicated, I like the home screen tho so don’t need a launcher in my case.

I have no tech creds,the original reason I posted was to get info on the onn box,I bought one yesterday,have’nt Got around to trying it yet. And for the record I am not a fire stick user As it seems many are assuming’.I am currently using nvidia shield.

The sale is a good one. It say’s U.S. and Puerto Rico compatible only but I’m thinking that’s not true OR if it was, perhaps use my phone as a hot spot logged into a USA server via VPN to set it up if there is a bottleneck there. After that, it should not care, well as per my thinking.

To be honest unless you are a serious audio/video…phile. I think you will find the ONN4k pro will perform as well as your nvidea shield. I also have the shield and many other boxes and built many for friends and will put the onn4kpro up against any box. Not to mention the easy setup out of the box.

Well now your just imagining things, nobody called you a firestick user. My reference was about these benchmarks that are posted here, the firestick 2 is NOT better than the onn pro.

I have wolf on one of my Onn’s and Projectivity on the other but I don’t even use it. One the second. I’ve had no problems but understand many have.

Those benchmarks measure the performance of the CPU and GPU but doesn’t take into account how the entire unit performs. The way I look at it is how much power do you really need for a streaming box? We’re not mining crypto on these things :joy:. Onn 4K Pro is best budget streaming device in my opinion.
