I agree it’s smooth as half melted butter, that sale chops about 25 % off, sweet deal.

Well my cousin is in FL and coming back Saturday. He just ordered one free same day delivery. Looking forward to it.

Basically just threw my Pro away. I couldn’t get it to power up anymore. I use nothing on my new TV because all of the apps work perfect

I think it outperforms a decent amount of mid-level streaming boxes as well and at a much better price point. Heck, I still love my gen 2 $19 Onn boxes. Think they are a great budget streaming device. The Onn streaming stick still stinks lmao.

Did anyone notice an update or something with the Onn 2? Trying to figure out how I went from 1.3gb free to only 300mb free. Pretty sure I didn’t do anything that would add 1gb.

What are you calling the Onn 2? Onn has a few devices. I checked my Onn 4k (non Pro) and I still have 1.5 Gb available. I also checked and there were no updates available.

I just replaced the Onn 4K in my bedroom with the new Onn 4K Pro that’s on-sale at Walmart.
Very impressive, and I can definitely tell the difference in its overall performance from the Onn 4K… Plus, the addition of the USB-3 port made it much more versatile in terms of adaptability. Hard to believe this thing is only $39. :sunglasses::call_me_hand:

Well I looked at all the suggestions etc and figured a work around of sorts. To cut a long story short I bought GL-IN ‘Opal’ travel router and set it up for VPN using a USA server and connected the ONN through it. Hey presto I was able to set up from scratch with no problem. After setting everything up and adding my apps etc on the ONN (including my surfshark) I am even able to once again connect to my home broadband and everything is back to normal. Can’t say enough about the ‘Opal’ it’s a really great little device and I will be taking it whenever I travel abroad always. Thanks to everyone for the advice and I hope this helps anyone in a similar predicament.

I agree completely. Before i said stay with Amazon. Not now. With the new updates to OS both Amazon and ONN/Google TV are blocking any type of recording on the USB port. As soon as tivimate tries to record the USB port is shutdown. Any connected device says, not connected. If you never record or never plan to then this is for you. I have a few morning shows with lots of commercials I like to record so I can skip commercials. Buzz Tv has some cheap streamers. Checkout eBay for some used. Troypoint has recommended some as well. Be careful out there,

I have to admit, it IS a PITA trying to record to a usb drive on the Onn 4k Pro. My next attempt will be recording to a drive connected to a server. :flushed:

I got the ONN to record to internal storage. Which was a shocker. I can use File Explorer to move the files to external drive. But don’t know if I can read them.
Let me know about the Plex recording system you use.
Good luck

You’ll have to enlighten me on how to get it to record to internal storage, Larry.
Last night I picked the ‘internal’ Recording folder as the folder to record to. Then I tried to record a short 30 minute show, but when I went to Recordings and tried to play it, nope, same ole ‘recording error’ message.
Keep in mind I have “3” connections and I successfully record to the U5 box that’s setup in my living room.
Now I’m really stumped!!! :flushed::call_me_hand:

I stand completely corrected. On my Amazon fire cube two, I cannot record to the internal memory. I did some internal recording on the ONN 4K pro But it stopped itself after 18 minutes. I went to Tivimate, settings, other, recording, file selection, chose movies.
Sorry I can’t help more. I’m sure it’s the operating system. If you find a workaround to record to external USB devices, I’d love to hear it.

Is that the Buzz TV U5? So you recorded to the internal memory? Have you tried hooking up an external USB flash drive or SSD drive? Were you able to record onto them?
Overall, how do you like your buzz TV? I have been thinking about getting one.

Not sure I want to pay for power station 6. lol

Yes, on my U5, I have a 2tb “internal SSD drive formatted with exFAT” and it works fine with TiviMate (as long as there’s no buffering going on). But this new Onn box isn’t responding to anything I have tried, and that includes setting up as SMB.
I feel like if I could find a file manager that can get through the Google file blocking, I could get it to work. So far, no luck with the ones I’ve tried.

I use X-plore

I have a 4Tb hard drive connected to my router, a Gl-inet Flint 2.

I can record to it using Tivimate with all my devices. Sony TV, Onn 4k Pro, Google Chromecast, Firestick 4k Max, etc.

Have you tried xplore? Don’t ask me how that would work. I don’t know, but I’ve looked at it.
If you figure it out, please let me know
