Depending on how much you get intto this hobby X-plore premium is worth it. You can do so much with this app. I played around and even set up my own LAN server so all my devices could access each other and share apps, files, etc.

So you have the buzz TV u5. Have you installed TV mate? Does it work? Can you record to an external player? Will it record to your internal memory?

I just had a discussion with Buzz TV on their website. They pretty much told me that TV mate will not work on their devices.

Not true! I have tried their onboard tv software, but found it to NOT work as good as TiviMate.
I simply deleted the playlist from their player and instead built it on TiviMate, set the Recordings folder up to point to my U5’s internal SSD and let her rip! Only issue I have is that if theirs some buffering, the recording will stop, but that was happening on Buzz’s player too.

Big issues with using Bluetooth pairing on this device. I’ve tried six different headphones, I’ve reset each headphone back to factory resets and I’m still having issues. there does seem to be a lag and using the box also. I would definitely not recommend just based on the Bluetooth issues that I’m having alone. I will keep plugging away at it to see if I can get something to work, but it is very frustrating and time consuming. I have also taken and forgotten these Bluetooth headphones on every other device that I had them connected to at one time.

I had same prob pairing a set with the regular onn 4k last night. I finally got them to work by pairing them in settings then turning headphones off. I then went to the app i was going to watch and started streaming then turned headphones on close to the onn box then moved away from it to where i sit in livingroom and it worked. Idk if it will work the same on the onn 4k pro but you might give this method a try. Good luck

Update on my ‘futile’ attempts to get this little puppy to play nice with my ext usb drive and TiViMate or PleX.
Google has done one heck of a job locking down the Onn’s file system. I tried multiple file managers to try and get TiviMate’s File Picker to change the Recordings folder to ANYTHING other than a folder on the root system. It doesn’t even let me assign it to a FleX folder on my NAS… I’ve spent two days trying different methods, but none worked and it’s not worth it when I can wait a day and stream a show anyway… If someone figures this out, I’m all :ear:’s…

I am a roku novice. Well, that is putting it nice. I know nothing! Can you plug an Onn into a roku TV? ? My son in law had a firestick plugged into his roku this weekend. I did not know you could do that!

Yes. Roku is a smart TV and with the HDMI port you can plug any streamer in and it should work. Now that being said, I haven’t actually tried this with an ONN as I am not an ONN fan, but I have done it with Firesticks, Ugoos, Buzz, Nvidia Shield Pro and others, quite successfully.

Thank you. I am ready to throw an onn in the trash. I have set up 10 or 12 of these things but today, I can’t get downloader. I have followed Troys guide 3 times thinking I was missing
something.
The scann apps w play protect is off.
Dev options enabled.
The only downloader showing is downloader by hk innovate. I can’t get search to find joipages to try that! I remember something vaguely about getting to google play store but can’t seem to find anything. Any idea where I could find that tidbit of information?

Go into Google Play Store. Download TV bro browser type in APK pure. Go to downloader and download it onto your onn box.

I just had a look. Downloader is in Google Play Store on the onn box. Go to settings, apps.
See all apps. Show system apps.
Find Google Play Store.
Open It. Search for downloader install.

I went to Apps at the top and went to the “search for apps and games” bar below and found it without out a problem.

Not sure why @drbboyd cant find it at all.

I do like to run my onn box in apps only mode, so there’s no search bar at the top.It’s a little harder to find google play store

after posting and getting a reply, I went back and searched one more time and both of the downloader apps popped up. I was furious . What had been preventing it from before! Who knows, just glad I got the darned thing downloaded.
