“Me too, ordered it as soon as I saw that sale posted here on Troypoint a few months ago.”
Sorry, if you don’t think my reply was on topic, but I believe the conversation was regarding the ONN device? Perhaps a mistake, but I often piggy back on the last post… All good.
Love my Onn 4k Pro.
I record(Tivimate) to a 4tb hard drive plugged into my Flint 2 router as a shared drive.
You have to factory reset the device . Probably because someone used it to record shows and filled the memory up. Once filled it will not respond . Have to factory reset is the only option
did it once before but lost the video. I cannot any sideload third party apps.
Did you turn on developer options?
yes, but I know that Troy posted a step by step, from the beginning of set up onto a video.

I deleted my original reply, as I deemed it a tad too “snarky” (some may construe it as “smart-ass”) after posting it. It did, however, mention “Research”, and I even went as far as putting in the picture of the Search Function Icon that looks like a magnifying glass
at the top right of the screen. Most (or at least some) of us have grown to simply adore utilizing it over the years. I find it very useful, and hope you do as well.

Hard to believe, but when I first got here I viewed at least 10 thousand posts over a period of months, which answered countless questions I would have otherwise posted, before finally posting my first question. I love how Troypoint offers up those details in our profile. I’m one of those who enjoys the journey of finding out things about as much as getting the answer.

@pophott, it might be helpful to start at the beginning. If you are trying to load Kodi, then our very own Insider, Jayhawks659’s, tutorial is great. I’ve recommended this video quite a few times.
Best of luck!

Manually updated both ONN 4K Pro boxes. Just an FYI after installing the update it asks to restart the boxes. On the restart be patient. I thought my box was bricked as the “Google TV” just sits there for several minutes. Let it run it’s course. Also after updating to Android 14 I had a remote update as well

You beat me to it. Exactly how it updated for me.
I really haven’t noticed anything different. Although, opening Smarttube says you are using an app that is for ann older version of Android. But it still works fine so far
After updating to Android TV 14, if using Projectivy you must now use Launcher Manager as home button takes you back to Google TV interface. This was great thing about Projectivy…didn’t need Launcher Manager. Hopefully dev updates for Android TV 14 soon. Launcher Manager will activate Projectivy as your default launcher so home button will take you to Projectivy home.

I just noticed and not sure if it was there before the update, that if you go to settings icon there is an Audio Output section.
This may be helpful for people having pairing issues with their soundbar/systems.
If it was there i never noticed it.
Both my Onn Android TV 4k and the 4k Pro updated to 14. Projectivy didn’t require a launcher on the pro but I did have to a extra reboot, the device was acting wonky,I had some trouble with an app and the TDUK DNS Switcher but the reboot fixed everything on the pro.
Took a extra reboot on the Onn 4k Android TV, having some issues with the USB storage, I’ll work on it tomorrow.
I wonder if this is because you already had Projectivy enabled. I didn’t and the problem on mine is that I can’t enable the Accessibility option for Projectivy in settings. It turns on but then goes immediately off. Same thing happening on the new Onn 4K Plus. Will keep working on this. Thanks for your input.
Also, want to make it clear that Projectivy works but the home button takes me back to Google TV home screen instead of Projectivy home screen.
I had to chuckle a little, my Projectivy problem is I can’t kill it, I force stop the app to get to the Android TV menu but it immediately starts back up, force stop immediately appears again in the app menu rather than the option going away.
I actually turned off the over ride boot option and accessibility but it I can’t kill it, so I will get back to it later. I am working on the USB issue.
First, all of this is on a Onn 4k with Android TV, the first gen Onn box, not a stick.
I tired a reboot and it hangs on a black screen, after the Onn logo screen, shows Android TV with a busy line under the word and that’s it, line is moving to indicate action but stays there.I waited and let it run while I did a update on a Chromecast with Google TV, it stayed there the whole time. BTW the Chromecast update was flawless, it too has a USB storage.
Back to the Onn 4k and USB unplugged the storage, the system boots as it should, Projectivy, checked various settings for storage, storage shows the drive safely ejected even though that wasn’t done manually. Turned off Debugging, reboot the same hang with the USB.
At this point I am thinking I’ll format and restore the storage, not my favorite thing to do but I have it down to a art but… First a cup of coffee.

Wow I see so many issues here with Launchers. I installed Wolf Launcher - Bricked my ONN Box factory reset…
I tried Projectivy Launcher - Bricked my Box factory reset.
Then I realized why do I need a Launcher? I go into my Box then within 10 seconds I’m either in KODI or my IPTV service. I don’t need to look at fancy wallpaper
