I have had Proton for a few years. Never an issue with IPTV. Premium services white list the Proton Servers.

That is strange to me. I use SS with TiviMate and Xtreme credentials on ONNs and a MeCool. Have used Chicago and Wireguard for years and no problems. Since itā€™s basically the same problem on SS and IPV, that tells me itā€™s not the VPN blocking the channels. I think someone here mentioned itā€™s the iptv provider blocking the VPN addresses. Though I donā€™t know why theyā€™d do that ā€“ other than preemptively avoiding scrutiny by law enforcement. I guess you just have to find a ā€œgoodā€ address.

That SS update is kind of goofy. Using the remote buttons to navigate to the update banner (that pops up automatically) takes you to the next update page and then you think you are on the update banner but nothing seems to happen when you press the enter button. So Iā€™ve found to really get it to work (ONN 4k Pro and ONN 4k), you need the mouse pointer from the TP Toolbox.

Iā€™ve used Bro Browser directly to their website and updated that way in the past. Hereā€™s one of our TVā€™s running SS

Yes! Thatā€™s something that really annoys me. Trying to tab on the update banner. What a nightmare! SS sent out a review request and that disappointment is what I wrote in the comments.

The reason DOS attacks. IPTV services shut that IP or series of IPs down.

Surfshark App has no way to update software to newer versions. I have discussed this with them for years, asking for a ā€œbuttonā€ or something to check the software version and update when needed. They told me the only way to get their latest version is to uninstall/reinstall the app, then go into the app and set all your favorites/preferences all over again. I am not pleased.

I update SurfShark a few days after it tells me iā€™m using an older versionā€¦i go to Troyā€™s toolbox and click on the get the deal button-after a few secs of acting like itā€™s downloading it asks if i want to upgradeā€“that my settings will not changeā€“i say yes and zip pow zowie itā€™s a done dealā€¦

There is an update section when a new update is available. I used it recently.

Hi, it seems that some IPā€™s are being blocked. Change location until one works.

Has anyone considered itā€™s something to do with the current US situation and possible protest to it by blocking US servers if it works fine with any of the others.

Just a thought.

Hello I donā€™t think it is ISP blocking. US and Canada users would not be blocked by providers simultaneously . Itā€™s a common issue as everyone has different iptv providers and ip locations.
It got so bad I couldnā€™t even use my Canadian locations had to use Detroit which eventually failed as well. It canā€™t be the 25% tariff can it. I have tried all connections types wire guard etc no change. Finally purchased IP Vanish and can now use any servers I want without issue. Lucky SS ends in May this year so not a big loss. I believe itā€™s a SS issue . Anyways i guess thatā€™s it for SS going forward.

I am in the UK and having major issues with SS. Contacted SS Chat but they have not been able to answer my questions. On my TV connected to nVidea Shield which is connected via ethernet, despite having download speed of 970mbps without SS, I only get 501mbps with SS on. Tried several servers on advice from SS TS but no improvement. They said about 30-40% reduction is normal but this is over 50% reduction. On my Windows 11 PC, I get 635mbps DL without SS. With SS running, Download - 530.88Mbps, which is acceptable.

On my windows 11 PC, not matter what Browser I use certain sites are blocked, including Google, with SS running. Have had to turn off SS to work normally. Spent over 4 days and four different agents, changing DNS settings; putting the sites into Bypasser and changing protocols to no avail. Iā€™ve given up on SS as they do not seem to be able to come up with and answer. Seems to me they are just guessing at answers and pointing me to their help links to no avail. When they check leakages they say that is ok. Utterly useless and my account does not expire until 16th April 2026. If I see a good offer from Nord VPN I will grab it.

While a provider can have an ā€œipā€ lock on a service, having it actually turned on would have been done in error. Reach out to the provider as ask them. If it is on, they will turn it off. This is not the same as having a mac connection where your locked to that specific device. Your service should always be portable, but perhaps locked to ā€œoneā€ ip address at a time.

Ive been having same issues as the rest of you but the weird thing is if im on tivimate using SS i have nothing but if i switch to sparkle SS plays no problem using the same service so its strange for sure

Thanks I may have to try that.

Try entering Sparkle in user agent in Tivimate general settings.
Worth a punt.
