Lol. You guys make me laugh with your paranoia theories. We go through this every couple of months. It isn’t paranoia to have brakes on a vehicle, it’s just common sense. But inevitably we end up here. Use a VPN if you want to for good reasons or don’t, also for good reasons, but lets stop with the attempts to demean sensible ppl with a paranoia label. It’s boring.

Breaks on a car are to stop a moving vehicle from hitting something or more importantly someone.
They are a legal requirement and not the best analogy for comparing a vpn.
I would’ve used curtains or blinds because they are optional and do help with privacy lol

I consider a VPN as a safety device designed to protect me from bad actors, much the same as brakes on a car. Just an analogy not meant to be taken literally. I’m going to drop this boring and time wasting discussion as it contributes nothing to the topic. Have a safe weekend and drive safe. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Express VPN - requires about 300 Megs, but works very well.

I use the free version of Proton. It works fine for me. if it starts to buffer on my IPTV I change countries, USA, Netherlands and Japan are free and there may be 3 more free that I have never used. Also, sometimes I don’t need it at all. If I do need it it’s always for Live TV not movies, or recorded series

For some unknown reason, I can’t get Surfshark to work with one of my 3 IPTV services, as I get a “can’t connect with internet” message. It doesn’t matter what server location I try. No such issues with Express VPN, which I have subscribed to for over 6 years. I had one service I tried on a trial that would not work with Express VPN but would with Surfshark. Go figure.

Does Real Debrid provide essentially the same function as VPN?

Real Debrid uses https so all data is encrypted. No need for a vpn but if you use one make sure it’s approved by RD.

I am not sure about that but I can tell you I use RD with KODI. But I also use an IPTV service without a VPN and RD has nothing to do with IPTV

Try the static servers. These are less abused and less likely blocked by iptv service.

I’ve had Private Internet Access for over 5 years, works great. No need to experiment with any other vpn services.

as of yesterday i am having issues with SurfShark, none of my server favorites are allowing EPG updates or connecting to any iptv channels-movies-or series…i have to jump around several times to find a server that will act right…i think the last SS update is what’s causing all these problems, i should have waited longer to update as this is not a new issue with their updates…

Could you explain what a static server is? Thanks.

See second column. The IP says the same and does not change or rotate.

Do you pay for an optional static ip address or are those servers free.

Those ones are free. You can pay for dedicated one if you wish

What makes you think the credit card and insurance companies don’t have access to all your personal data? They do.

If you have an Amazon device, clear cache on the tv app, force stop of the tv app, and then reboot the firestick device, pick a new location. You don’t have to reboot the router. That works about 80% of the time for me.

@SMF …no Amazon an I don’t restart a router…but thanx for the input …
